I was very interested to read the post on copyright issues. If someone does copy and paste all, or part of an article written on another forum by someone, without their permission, what can be done about it. I do have a very good reason for asking this.

Susie ... this is a tough one. It depends whether or not an article is just being quoted and credit being given to the writer, either by a detailed reference to source or by a link. Other factors come to play as well, for example was a warning not to use the original material given? What are the rules of the site on which the original material was posted? etc

If no credit is given, then legal redress may be appropriate providing you can prove a loss has been suffered. A costly and a lengthy procedure.

As with so much else on the internet, this is still a rather grey area as far as the UK's courts are concerned.

It was an article I was asked to write for a Big Brother forum, about how we felt about Tommy going into the house, what happened afterwards etc, and the owner of the forum put at the bottom that it was copywrited and could not be produced in part or full with out my, or her permission
The next day it appeared, cut up, and with comments made on each section, on a bloggers site. the blogger said he read the copywrite thing and it was laughable, I just wondered if he was right, and there was no such thing as copywrite when it comes to an ordinary person writing something for a forum

To be honest she is afraid of the person who did it so didnt say anything! dont know why though as he could hardly jump out the computer monitor and thump her one

No, but he could try hacking her site or try to cause trouble for her in other ways.
