I'm thinking that if I'm still alive in 2012, I'd love to volunteer to help out (any excuse to get to live in London for just a short while)...

Anyway, as it looks like there won't be any Big Brother that year, lots of us may have some time on our hands - surely they must need someone to make sandwiches or something?

Yet another white elephant for East London - clearly we've learned nothing from the dome disaster.

I've got seven years of disruption to look forward to while my part of town gets trashed to build a world class long slalom canoeing course, and a greek wrestling arena, then a lifetime of paying the bills when it (surprise surprise) costs more than budgeted.

Given the paltry number of spectators that watch live sports (other than football) in the UK, wouldn't it have been a lot cheaper just to give them all eurostar tickets to Paris and let the French foot the bill for the games? It's only a couple of hours away!
