I don't think Makosi should be sacked. Not that she has any intention of going back to that job!!

Maybe i'm being stupid here, since no one else seems to think she did anything wrong...but aren't nurses meant to promote safe sex? She (claimed to) humped some guy in a swimming pool then went around telling everyone she's pregnant - that surely promotes the opposite. The oath is that you don't do anthing in public (and on a TV show sure is as public as it gets) that goes against the ethics of the job.

She got drunk and had a fumble with a guy she's been known to fancy......I really doubt that anything serious went on because don't think that Anthony was capable......but even if they did have unprotected sex, she's not the first or only women in the world that's ever done that and if that's a sackable offence then there should be a lot of people out there worried!

IN PUBLIC....that's the difference...according to the oath or whatever it is she has to follow to be a nurse she has to act accordingly in public. And having unprotected sex (or claiming to) doesn't get the thumbs up.

Look - there is no "oath". Nurses are subject to a code of conduct. Part of the code of conduct requires you to act in such a way as to ensure public confidence in the profession. Some people might choose to interpret this as meaning nurses should be nuns.

Personally, I think anyone who does is a fool - nurses are mostly young women and holding them to higher standards than other young women is a hangover from the Victorian days when all nurses had to be unmarried women, had to live in the hospital and ask matron if they wanted to get wed.

So Makosi had a drunken fumble - so what? Nurses are not paragons of virtue - some of them smoke, lots of them drink, loads of them don't eat healthily, some are obese. If you get into the realms of deciding to sack nurses for "not setting a good example" with regards to health promotion, expect to see the NHS decimated of nurses.

What nurses or any other person working in the public services gets up to in private is their own business. Makosi, by acting dishonerably in public has it seems, broken a code of conduct and is a cause of embarrassement to her colleagues and her profession. It probably says as much in her job discription.

Am afraid this debate is completely pointless.She hasn't been sacked.She handed in her notice before she went on the show as she was unable to tell her bosses that she was to appear in BB.Am sure she realised from previous BBs that returning to work after the show would most likely not be an option.

Only Makosi who was slightly less pissed than Anthony knows if they had sex in the pool. She told him he had inserted other parts of his anatomy.

But why lie about 'thinking' she's pregnant?- surely that would be in bad taste.

I would have thought the stupidest thing Makosi has done is saying she had unprotected sex 'live' on a high profile British TV programme especially when HIV/ aids is a massive problem in southern & central africa.

Makosi could have been a role model.
