Did Big Brother tell the housemates that there had been a bombing in London?

I don't know, Chad. Dermot said on BBLB that it had been decided not to tell them, but on the other hand, it seemed odd that they would 'let' Maxwell out on Friday night, to speak with Davina, and face the press, without some sort of preparation. Before he left the house, he was told that Saskia was waiting for him, so perhaps he was told that there had been a major incident in London, but that his family was not affected.

Perhaps the housemates were given some news - but none of them has mentioned it.

I'm pretty sure they have not been told. Dermot said all their F&F were safe so they had no told them. Unless they have found out to the contrary there is no reason to change that decision.

No.
And no, they would not have told maxwell before he left at 10.05pm.

You really think he'd sit there for 30mins, 'calmly', having been told there was an attack on london so serious that they thought it worth telling him before he left?

No.
No one got told. I'm kinda surprised no one shouted it out via a megaphone or something lately.

Calrissian: hmm

They might have extra security around the parameters, just incase anybody tries this. Although i suppose with a megaphone, they could maybe use that from quite a distance away.

Its also pretty poor that they were not given the opportunity to pay their respects with the 2 min silence today.

I'm suprised, wasnt there an american BB on at the time on 9/11? or did i dream it, i swear it happened and HM's where individually called in and told by BB.

I know 9/11 was a lot worse than 7/7 but still, they should be told.

I might be wrong about this but a member of the American house was told because they lost a relative at 9/11.

I agree I think its shameful that they didn't take part in the two minute silence for the sake of 'television' I firmly believe they should have been told. They could have been reassured that that their families were safe but not telling them IMO shows that they view ratings and the tv show above the importance of what happened. :-?

I imagine that the fear was that telling the housemates about the attack could cause them to panic and want to leave the house - thus wrecking the proramme.

Ratings above lives?
