You might want to amend that statement to say "most" instead of "all" Adrian. I think it would be more accurate that way.

i take your point- but seeing that there hasn't been, even one ex-hm, who has made a successful television career, since their days in BB, i cannot agree with you.
Go down to your local high street, go up to the first person you see, and ask them, which television programme, Allison Hammond, is on, and i'll guarantee you, the answer you're get, will be "who??"
Good luck to the girl- she's done ok for herself, and i'm sure her bank manager is a happy bunny, but i, personally, don't regard, occasional appearances on obscure daytime tv, a successful television career.

As all ex-BB housemates, have discovered, a future career in the media, and particularily on television, is a far flung dream, which is never going to be realised. :-?
They generally do not have the talent or charisma for longevity.
Newpaper and magazine photoshoots, is about the limit of what they can achieve, after the initial furore has died down. (2 months?)

You didn't say succesful Adrian, you said a career, which Alison and Brian certainly has, Its also a little longer then 2 months, "longevity" even!! Try not to change the goalposts just coz you did a chris waddle circa1990 :D

You said 'the media' though, albeit you mentioned 'particularly television'.

I would say that some housemates have had a successful career in television (here's just one example of what Brian's up to: http://www.livingtv.co.uk/index.html ) but I think the definition of 'career' is what's up for debate. Length of time, hierarchy of channels, BEING on a programme or WORKING on a programme, and all these things have a bearing on how we perceive it. If you mean a successful tv presenting career, how do you gauge that? Nobody's work is as secure as it once might have been and even long-standing "faces" that we recognise come and go.

I do see your point and take it on board, and am aware that I can come down to arguing semantics too. None of the Big Brother housemates has a long-running, regular, annual series of their own, but to me, that isn't the only thing that constitutes a "career in the meeja" or even a "successful tv career".
