Animal, even pets, has certain psychological effect on people. Pets are used as a theraphy as well. Eventhought the way people treat and care about these pets isn't the best way, because these animals has their own behaviour-system which is different from peoples.

Good grief. Better not sell frightened kittens to anyone with kids then.

Actually I'm of the belief that young children shouldn't have kittens or puppies. I've only ever seen kids end up doing nasty things to animals because they're to self-centred to treat things with properly.

... oh wait, same goes for the HMs!

I think the RSPCA might have been wary, because if the housemates had done anything that would have looked bad, then people might have copied this. I think maybe the housemates should have waited for the pup to come to them. They should have stayed a distance away, and then just held out there hand, then the pup might have come towards them. This is how i gain animals trust, and then once it's totally comfortable with you, maybe pick it up.

I got two kittens last year and when I brought them into my house they weren't scared for a second. I shut them into one room and introduced them to the house a bit at a time keeping quiet and gentle (and I'm anything but that normally). Introducing a kitten into a weird house full of loud attention seekers IS a bit cruel in my book and I'm quite glad I didn't see it.

My kittens/cats hate Big Brother by the way!

Also random, after 2 of my friends go married her cat was resentful of the new human in the house and he inched his way along the back of the settee, positioned himself just right and then wee'd on the poor mans head! Who says cats don't show human emotions! If that wasn't jealousy... ::lol::

LOL! My cat loves Big Brother! I've caught her giving Anthony the eye, but she stops watching whenever Craig appears.

Actually when E4 was showing the audition tapes my cat jumped off the chair at sat in front of the TV staring at one guy. It was quite freaky. Then again my cat thinks she's human and tries to have whole conversations by meowing at me.
