It is a very familiar tale, thanks to today's obsession with reality television.
This is how it goes. A random nobody wins over the good hearts of the public with their down-to-earth and likeable (or sometimes non-existent) personality.
They become hot property on the celebrity circuit, snapping up magazine deals left, right and centre until, after a few months (or more if they are lucky) they return to living their life as a random nobody again.
Will that be the same course for
Big Brother Six winner Anthony Hutton?
There was a time when Wor Anthony was the most talked about `celebrity' around.
Alas, the reality TV curse may finally be calling time on his moment in the spotlight, despite all his best efforts to find his way into the papers by stumbling drunk outside nightclubs and snogging pretty blondes.
There was a time not so long ago when Anthony could command huge fees for pictures of himself rolling around the floor in a swanky apartment with fellow ex-housemate Craig, dressed only in stripy pyjamas and some Dax wax - but not any more.
How do we know? Here is our evidence.
While looking at internet auction site eBay, Angel Eyes stumbled across two lots dedicated to the Consett-born lad.
An official signed photo and a slightly strange CD of photographs which apparently have a
"strong gay interest" (best not to ask anymore about that one).
The autograph can be snapped up for just £2 and the CD for a tenner.
However, despite Anthony's previous popularity, at time of going to press only one person has bid for the autograph.
It says something about how fickle the world of celebrity is!
It was made worse when we compared it to some of the other celebrity autographs up for grabs.
Aled Jones' costs nearly £7, X Factor winner Shayne Ward's is worth £30 and fellow contestant Chico can be bought for £1 (we know this is half the price of Anthony's but two people have put in a bid so far, which is one more fan than the BB winner seems to have).
Do not fret too much yet Anthony. We also spotted a pair of green boxer shorts being sold as "the same as Big Brother's Anthony" so you must still have some appeal! With the £50,000 you won you could put in bids yourself...
For those of you who do not share Angel Eyes' opinion on Anthony, you will be pleased to hear he is planning on worming his way back on to our screens as soon as telly bosses will let him. In a recent interview Anthony said: "I watch a lot of reality TV. I loved The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity! I would like to be on another reality show." Let us hope he reads about the reality TV curse before he thinks he can make a career out of it!
