I only saw some of Makosi and Derek 'debate'

but from the impression I got from Makosi, I have to agree that until more gay couples are allowed to adopt then attitudes won't change.

if two people of the same sex who show the same amount of love and devotion as hetrosexual couple, then there shouldn't be a problem. If people stick to the Derek cop out attitude of "the child" would be bullied, how can change be affected

I went to school with a boy whose dad is gay. He wasn't bullied. His dad was actually pretty cool, he worked in a mental home.

For the only time ever I totally agree with Derek, and Makosi's point only showed she didn't understand Derek's stand on the matter at all.

How are gay couples any different from heterosexual couples? Now I didn't watch the debate, so I don't know who argued which point, can someone fill me in?

I think the adoption agency, might be looking at it from the "children should have a mother and a father" point of view. Might be wrong on this though.

IMO and its my personal opinion gay adoption its totaly anti nurture and against the biological rules set nby mother nature.

that is I mean when the couple go out of their way to buy sperm, surrrogate clone whatever root.

There are other situations that are accidental that are acceptable because the driving element hasnt been the selfish wishes of the adults

Well I quote directly from my very Catholic mother here, we discussed this once and she said:

"Well I'd rather have a Q**r babysit my grandchild than a pervert!'" One of our family friends is a loud gay man and My God! if anyone tried to hurt one of our kids he'd kill them! My nieces and nephews are safe with him around! :D

As a gay man in a stable relationship I will never rule out adopting, however I also realise that the child should always come first, and I wouldn't want who I am to effect a child negatively however, having said that surely it's better a kid is with loving parents then in a home.

As for the above opinions, not being religious at all I can't see were you are coming from, we are in the 21st century, when I read your thoughts it made me sigh heavily, but it's your opinion and fairplay to you.

My gay friend and neighbour has his niece and nephew (brother and sister, both in early twenties now) living with him since they were both teenagers. I told him he was a mad fool to take them on when he first told me about it.

Anyway, he's been a fantastic surrogate parent/uncle to both of them - he's consistent...firm but fair and has made a better job of it than I ever could - they're a happy lovely family ....his lovely house is wrecked tho, his nephew (swoon) is a drop-dead-gorgeous ladies man. @^@

I agree with Bonzo, the child should always be loved, AND put first no matter what.

I bet that many zoos all over UK will be interested in adopting Craig. Some exotic animals could increase their marketability.

There's 20,000 kids in care in this country and 60% end up in jail in adulthood so if homosexuals could adopt that would hopefully help....Flip it,there's not enough love in the world as it is,anything to help is good! :x
