I hope Eugene either wins or at least comes second!

I don't have the paper in this room but I think 'devious and manipulative' is a quote from the column so it could be to make a point, but you never know.

Poor old Eugene. He looked like a fish out of water last night when they were all dancing.

I'm a LOT older than him, but I feel younger sometimes when he's talking about stuff. He's one of those people who was *born* middle-aged, and will probably always appear to stay at the same life stage.

I seriously have a problem when he goes on and on about stuff that doesn't interest me (or his housemates). But I was glad earlier when he had a technical convo with Anthony, and Anthony actually appeared to be genuinely interested. That can't happen to Eugene much (outside of his own circle).

All joking aside, I'm gobsmacked Eugene has coped as well as he has in there!

I suppose he's had to turn a blind eye to the bitching to make it a bit more bearable.
He's such a sweetie. I bet the girls will be queueing up for him when he comes out - they'll all just want to corrupt him as best they can!

Corrupting my Eugene? Aw no, can we not keep him just as he is?

Even the bitches, who have so far had a genuine nice word for anyone, like him!!

Quote:
Eugene's story of weight loss in the House has evoked an unexpected outpouring of love from his other Housemates.

A Eugene-ius stream of consciousness - involving topics as diverse and varied as service stations, weight machines and pool exercises - left Derek, Kemal and Makosi in fits of affectionate giggles as he thanked them for listening and promptly left the bedroom.

"I love him!" squealed Kemal.

"Oh my days! Eugene is immaculate," added Makosi, before Derek piped up: "He's so charming. He's the sort of boy that if you make a friend, he's a friend for life."

"I think he's great. He's sooo honest - that is Eugene," gushed Kemal again.

Bless. A whole five minutes and not a bitching word between them.

Not a chance. I reckon Eugene is a complete womaniser in the making! I'd love to take him on a night out with some of my friends - he would be absolutely terrified, but it would be flippin' hilarious!

Actually, vagabond, I did. :-?

Just as some men (cough) think that a lot of women are devious and manipulative, I confess that I err on the side of taking the woman's side in many matters. A consequence of my advanced years, no doubt. Many Irish women of my mother's generation had a hard life, so I tend to think that men have gotten away with a lot. The women were too busy having babies and keeping house to have time to be devious.

But with 'strong' women like Makosi around, it seems the times have truly changed!

While most of the House have been saying how much they like Eugene, Craig has told Anthony that he's no fan of the man. Anthony, meanwhile, just sat and picked his nose...

Although Eugene, the bumbling boffin, can talk at length and sometimes finds it hard to distinguish between fascinating and boring, he had seemingly started to win the hearts of the Housemates. Not Craig however...

"I really don't like that bloke, he's horrible," Craig said.
"I think he's alright," Anthony replied flatly.

"He is to you but he despises me," Craig continued. "When he has a conversation with us he looks at you and won't acknowledge me. He always makes sarky comments."

Anthony didn't seem too bothered about Craig's opinion of Eugene and just sat there enthusiastically picking his nose.

"This evening right," Craig persisted. "They were in the pool and I was here on my own for 10 minutes and they didn't acknowledge me...it's completely false."

But Anthony was too busy mining for green gems. Then Craig pulled him up on his persistent nose picking.

"Oh, you're on TV, don't sit there doing that...do it just a little bit or go to the toilet," he advised, more than a little disgusted.

"Cheers..." Anthony mumbled.

"It had to be said, get over it," Craig replied before absently picking his own nose.

[sarcasm]
I can't possibly imagine why, since Craig was so welcoming and friendly to him right from the first day Eugene was in there, with only kind words to say about him in public and private. Good for him that he managed to put his preference of only hanging out with good looking trendy people aside (and you can clearly see why they would be inclined to hang around a fashion icon such as he) to make one of the biggest efforts imaginable to get to know him.
[/sarcasm]
