Day 71, 21:50

Of course Derek had to have the last word, and decided to give a moving speech to Housemates before hitting the road.

Gathered on the sofa, the Housemates listened to Derek's words in somewhat rapt silence. Here's that speech in full...

"These are the last official words I shall speak," he began. "I've come a long way, I came here not to win anything, but to do something for me, something that I haven't ever done before.

"To discover more about myself and other people. I've been very, very lucky in my life to have had a good and honourable start in life and some fantastic jobs, but this memory will be with me for a very long time and will hopefully shape my destiny."

Derek had this final thought for the Housemates. "In this room there is a winner and I wish you all the very best of luck," he finished.

Everyone clapped politely, then it was straight back to the small talk as Derek's final minutes ticked away.

Now, can you see Kinga's bra in that top?

Some of the posters on another forum asked if they had all been given handfulls of 'Happy Pills' ::lol::

Their conduct tonight brings back memories of the earlier Big Brother shows :D

Yep, I would have really enjoyed it, had it not been for Derek!!

In some ways, I can see why the booing happens - it's easy to get caught up in the atmosphere on eviction nights.
But then again, being there, you tend to put yourself in their position, stood at the top of those stairs, think how terrified they must be feeling, and cheer for them out of pity!

I know that's what I did for Vanessa, but it seems the rest of the audience didn't feel the same that night!

There's not even alcohol involved either!! (unless they'd been drinking in the queue!)

If Derek got booed, then i imagine he was able to take all of them. I can't see the boos getting to Derek at all, he would probably just have laughed them off even.

Oh damn, i wanted to see this interview. I wanted to see if Derek got shown all of his hypocritical moments or not. I don't think they repeat it tomorrow either.

I think Derek got off far too lightly.

They did show some of his bitching, I suppose...

But Davina didn't challenge him enough, and I can't believe the crowd gave him such a good reception.

Day 71, 22:55

From the moment he entered the House Derek was on a mission to add some sophistication to the rowdy rabble, which he often managed. However, his sixth time up for nomination proved to be unlucky and he was evicted from the House. Here are just some of the loveable Tory's best bits...

The next candidate for leader of the Tory party? Kemal certainly thought so. Read more...

Derek was territorial about his special skipping rope and didn't take kindly to usurpers. Read more...

Unfortunately, Derek failed to get on the right side of one voter and continued to clash with Science. Read more...

The dashing fellow had a penchant for drama and told Housemates he wouldn't mind being a pantomime dame. Read more...

The lewd behaviour of certain Housemates continued to shock Derek throughout his stay. Here he is appalled by Anthony's cooking outfit of choice. Read more...

He might have spent a fair bit of time with Eugene, but Derek's first love was always the vacuum. Read more...

The fruity fella made continued requests to Big Brother to ship in sexy men for him to play with, unfortunately his pleas fell on deaf ears. Read more...

The moaning Minnie was never happier than when having a good old-fashioned bitch in the pool with best pal Eugene. Read more...

Double O Derek was isolated from the group when they wrongly accused him of being a double agent during the spy task, but he was back with a vengeance the next day. Read more...

He was welcoming, warm and wise with new blood Kinga, much to everyone's surprise. Read more...

Derek has taken all of his nominations with a typically British stiff upper lip, and this latest one was no different. Read more...

The elder statesman has left the building, but we have a feeling we haven't seen the last of this particular political animal.

Grrr.

If they do close in for the kill, they will only reduce their own vote and bolster Eugene's.

Makosi and Craig are so self-absorbed I don't think they realise the majority of us do not like them.

Hopefully Ant will stick up for Eugene and Kinga will at least talk to him, but hopefully not humiliate as she tried to do tonight.

The irony of her thinking Eugene's virginity is laughable after what she has done this week.

You are SO perspicacious Alan! ;) :D

I thought Derek's exit and interview were the best this series. No boos, no flying objects and quite a nice wee interview with Davina.
