Of course, if Eugene wins tonight and gives the other half of the money to the hm who comes in second place, thus, making sure there would be as he said '2 winners' he would redeem himself somewhat in my eyes.

Because clever people(&Eugene is a dork) would know it was a trick.

Mind you, Eugene did know that by taking the 50k he would deprive the winner of 50k.

Eugene will probably win now but some of us remember him licking Derek's arse & slagging off women.

You should have waited the extra hour before posting Londoner.

I think Eugene's greedy because he said "better two winners than none at all"

My thoughts on this:

1. Eugene believed at the time he wasn't going to win. So I think he is greedily snatching half of the winner's money. If he himself doesn't believe he could win, what the hell is he doing stealing from the winner, and from who the public want to win? For me that is selfish and irresponsible. It is certainly self-serving. But of course the irony is that he IS the public's favourite and he has cheated himself out of the extra £100,000.

2. He's conceited enough to think of himself as a becoming a 'winner' by merely taking advantage of BB's cut-your-fellow-HM-throats offer. Utterly random moment. Great TV but lousy betrayal of BB tradition and the voters. Imagine Makosi getting the money. Not such a nice scenario, eh?

3. At the time Eugene believed he would be also be leaving if he took the money. The fact that it was in a suitcase probably made Eugene think he could walk out then and there with the money (although Craig was probably waiting to ambush him). Wrongly assuming this scenario aided Eugene in his decision to take the money, he assumed he was walking out and wouldn't have to face up to his HMs. That is why I think he is a coward. When he learnt he would have to face them, he turned on the waterworks so the other HM wouldn't turn on him. Coward. He's a gutless fraud. And the Eugene supporters have fallen for it. His twittering about morality is his way of even lying to himself. He doesn't even have the guts to face up to himself and realise he is a greedy, cheating thief who has back-stabbed the potential winner. Blubbing is a way children manipulate their parents. Again the delicious irony is that he's stuck the knife in himself. £100,000 is a lot, but only half of what he could have won if he'd taken a principled stand and taken a gamble. Back yourself you coward! Don't you think you can win? He thinks the British public won't support a drip. He's wrong. "I think I'll gamble Jim, I just hope is not a f^cking speedboat!"

4. If Eugene really thinks it's better to have two winners, why doesn't he leave the house? He's still in there. If he wins, I'll be very happy if he divides the other £50,000 between the other 3 and redeems himself as a moral man. It could happen, but the cool way he took the money first time around makes me thing he'll be back for second helpings.

5. The 'none at all' remark is puzzling. This is a long shot, but does he mean, 'better I get to be a 50% winner than preserve the status quo and get nothing at all on Friday because, I'm so dreary, how can I possibly win?' A sensible choice precisely because it is the selfish one. He doesn't think he can win, he realises what a sh!t HM he's been even though his supporters do not.

Human beings are largely governed by self-interest and self-preservation, which makes BB so enjoyable to watch, but we also have a spark in us of better things which makes us rise above our animal origins. Not everyone in human history has been driven by the greed. Some very successful people have propelled human civilisation forward from motives far removed from self-interest, their financial success has been a by-product but not a motivator of their achievements.

An example: Since Bunny thinks I'm on a Jesus trip, take the example of that man. Though I don't believe he existed, didn't he, in the myth/story, sacrifice himself for all our sins? (Including stuffing the winner out of an extra £150,000! ;) )

As to your other reflections on my comments Londoner:

"Most viewers think that Eugene made the right decision. Good that you realise that!"
Please, I'm not deluded. I know what most people would have done. And I understand their motives. Is it really so hard to understand the few of us who would have declined the money. Do we make you feel so uncomfortable? Do you wish that you could turn down £50,000? Probably not. Money is all, isn't it? Anybody who doesn't realise that is clearly retarded or a liar?

Let me have my moral bleatings, even if you think I am foolish or a liar, but please, let's all admit Eugene can't have his cake AND eat it? You've got the money Eugene, stob blubbing or soon your winnigs will go on paying for paper hankies.

"please stop your wishful thinking before it hurts you even more!"
I'm not hurt at all. And I am not one to engage in wishful thinking (Liverpool CL campaigns aside.) I'm just enjoying the usual hyperbole, melodrama, mania and outrage of BB and BBFans.

If you'd been paying attention you'd have noticed I have repeatedly criticized Ant as well. I no longer want him to win. I'll be annoyed when Eugene wins, but by about 11pm tonight it won't really matter. To ANY of us (unless we are related to or know a HM).

If I cared about the result at all I would have voted. And if I was really true to what I believed, I'd be voting for Makosi, because she has been a star. Such an awful person, perhaps, but she has deserved that money. I'd like to see her at least get a sub of Eugene for a new weave.

How can Anthony be IQ-less? Surely if ever tested he would gain some score? Surely? Even if you think it would be below 100. And Ant isn't a 'lap-dancer' is he? Seventies dancer may be even more embarrasing!

Ant will end up earning more than Eugene anyway, as will Makosi. They'll both be p!ssed that a more boring HM has beaten them, but the BB voting public are very thrawn. They are on the one-hand doing the British thing and supporting/celebrating the under-dog/lame-duck and with the other hand using Eugene the Geek as a blunt cudgel to gain some revenge on Ch.4/Endemol and all the other HMs.

Voting for Eugene is a negative vote and not a positive vote for a HM who has entertained us these past 11 weeks (or 7 in Eugene's case, Blimey, Kinga's done more in two!).

A vote for Eugene is a celebration of social awkwardness, sexual and emotional repression and moral hypocrisy. Actually what better winner could the British public pick to represent them?

Yes, I realise it now. You Eugenecists are right. BB6 IS The Year of Eugene. We've never had a more representative winner. All hail King Eugene! The face of Britain 2005!! ;)

Well said Alanpin, I agree with every word! There would be blue murder if Makosi had gone to the diary room and taken that money. I don't care what the Eugene supporters say, they would have freaked out if she'd got that money.

Even Eugene himself seems to realise what a shallow, greedy and mean thing it is he's done. Its clear to him but not to his supporters.

If only Eugene didn't call Kinga a 'stupid bitch' because she committed the crime of leaving a wine botlle next to his bed.

wow! I think I must have missed all of it! I certainly never noticed Eugene sl*gging off women tho. I just thought he was shy around women and whats wrong with that anyway? you just have to be careful not to hug them or talk about sex. Pretty easy to do really....

A couple more votes for Kinga, then...

(though how loudly did Eugene say it? I'm sure we've all muttered the odd unkind comment under our breath :-? )

exactly GerbilGranny! I am not a practicing Christian (lapsed Catholic) but I do resent the way that Christians are expected to be so perfect. It's not fair to them to have that much pressure! when anyone else can get away with murder! Eugene is only a normal guy, why should we expect him to be perfect!

He did mutter it and he said it after she had woken him up and gabbed on at him for ages before she left him alone. He took her glass and wine bottle off his bedside table and moved it over to hers. I tell you I would swing for that girl if I was in there with her ::lol::

I don't know about Eugenes religion but it just seems to me that people expect him to be perfect and will slate him otherwise but that seems unfair to me bcz my kickboxing instructor is a firmly committed Christian and this is what he complains about. If you try to be good then people are less forgiving than if you just admit that you are not perfect! :-?

I'll be voting for Kinga and Anthony, because one of the others is too manipulative to win the prize, and the other doesn't do that much to deserve winning. This is just what i think though.
