My thoughts - for what they are worth:

1. I don't think you should allow terrorists to make people live in fear and panic - and as much as possible you should let life go on as normal. Therefore, we want to see the transport system and businesses carrying on as normally as possible as SOON as possible.

2. That being said - I think that Big Brother is primarily a fairly trivial entertainment programme. And I think that to have any kind of eviction on the day following such an atrocity would be extremely insensitive. I've been enjoying BB as much as anyone here, but it seems VERY trivial to me now, and I don't want to be worrying about who goes tomorrow night. Leave it till next week, at least, till things have had a chance to settle. If it does go ahead, there should be no crowd present.

3. I think the housemates *should* be informed, given that they are in London, and it has been hit by terrorists. They should have the option of deciding whether they wish to remain in the Big Brother house. I think it's too big a thing to keep from them. It's not that I think they are in any danger at all, but I think it's not my call to decide, nor is it the call of the producers.

4. I think BB should be finding out as a matter of urgency whether anyone known to the HMs has been injured in the bombings, and should then gather the HMs to tell them together, and let them know that their loved ones are safe.

I have to say that with a huge event like this, in the same city the show is taking place in, and with the possibilty they may be related or friends with people involved, they should definitely be told.

You simply cannot not tell grown adults there has been a major terrorist attack in the city they are living in.

Yeah, spacelad

It's all very well for the rest of the people in London who can keep themselves informed via the media. To be in that city and know nothing about it is not on.

They must be told...it doesn't matter if the family are contacted and say everyone are ok...the family doesn't always know all of your friends and aquaintences etc

Re the eviction: I dont want it cancelled, same reasons as mentioned...it's letting them 'win' we need to carry on with life...but how frigging innapropriate would it be to have Maxwell evicted to a baying, booing crowd...with him totally unaware of what happened...no.

Carrying on with life is all well and good, so I agree. But carrying on with trivial stuff immediately in the aftermath of so much carnage is not really on.

I have a crap memory for names and events, but there was a Secretary of State for Northern Ireland who went down to Dublin to do the Late Late Show. It was on the night after some terrorist atrocity (possibly a workmen's van being blown up), and the presenter, Gay Byrne kept on and on at him to get him to sing on the programme.

There was so much outrage at him being trivial like that on tv that he lost his job.

Having a normal eviction on BB the night after this atrocity seems to me to be inappropriate at the very least. I'm not suggesting that they just close Big Brother down! Just that they show some respect and postpone the eviction for a few days!

I think this BB normal schedule must go on. No disrespect to what had happaned and those direclt involved (injured or got killed). But life must go on. This is the only way for us to show to the world and especially to the evil terrorists that we won't let them to sabotage our lives. They will never win!!

Unless, there's a CLEAR INDICATION (and no safe option to avoid it) that we put people's lives in danger by proceeding with the eviction: then, may be we should consider postponing it. But to continue with the eviction this week, in my personal opinion, carries more meaning than merely an entertainment. It's about our inner spirit of survival: the British people determination to live our lives as normal as possible regardless of how these barbaric people try to sabotage and mess things up!

That's how I look at it. Different people may view it differently.

Fair enough, Londoner. Though I really don't think BB has much to do with the inner spirit of survival or determination to live lives as normally as possible!!

NO, I really do think BB has much to do with inner spirit of survival as much as the G8 summit does have. BB might be just an entertainment; but it's watched by millions people in UK. By SIGNIFICANTLY adjusting the BB schedule, we send a CLEAR MESSAGE to these millions people that WE HAVE A STRONG REASON to be frigthened by such attack. NO, I think we shouldn't. If we keep showing how FEAR and FRIGHTENED we are, sooner or later this barbaric culture will become more and more common. Their only aim is to frigthen and intimidate us, and we shouldn't let that happen!

If there's an eviction this Friday, I will definitely come to BB. This time, not only to show my support to my favourite housemates, but to let the terrorists know that what they have done will never stop civilised people to enjoy their lives to the fullest. :) :)

I dont think its som much showing fear in the face of terrorism but respect to those who have suffered today.Somehow BB seems very trivial in comparison to the events in London and I for one have no interest in BB today

I'm kind of torn on this one. I don't think the eviction should be cancelled bcz as long as security is stepped up I don't think it's necessary. Whether it's ethical or not is more a question that should be answered by those directly involved tho, rather than from me. I suppose imo I'd rather see the eviction go ahead simply bcz I'd rather not let the terrorists see that they can disrupt us any more than they already have by this atrocity.

The HM's should be told.I woudl allow them to watch a news channel for an hour and after that they can make up their own minds about what they want to do.Some of them may want to leave the house.

As for the eviction,i am icline dto go ahead with it.But if not, wouldnt it be possible to hold it on saturday night?

On the issue whether the HMs should be told or not about this incident, I can't really give any thought of this. So, leave it to the BB production team. They know the situation better (i.e. I'm sure they have contacted the immediate family of all contestants). The same thing happens in 2001.

The dilemma of whether to tell or not the housemates about the 11/9 attack. One may argue this is different because it happened in USA. Yes, but the scale was far bigger. More than 3000 killed and thousands other injured. What happened in London is smaller in terms of scale, although it's closer in terms of location. But taking into account all these variables, the probability of friends/family (of the HMs) could have involved (in both incidents) is realistically about the same.

Too sad that evil people are everywhere!
