It really and truly does go too far with certain things. Taking Christ out of Christmas - what is THAT all about! My eyebrows are raised to the top of my forehead. The do-gooders are at in in every walk of life though. This country is going down that awful road, following America I'm afraid.

If it was/is going to happen, then i think they would maybe put something like........Have a happy festive time. But the point is, they are still talking about Christmas though, so really, they haven't took the whole lot away

Maybe not for the kids, but for us oldies and the middle aged people it has

My bf is a Hindu and it's just taken me a full 5 minutes to persuade him that some people think he (and other Hindu's) will be offended by a Christmas card. He thought I was joking, my ex was Muslim and this kind of extreme 'treading on eggshells' used to embarass him too. If they really did ban the word Christ on Christmas cards I think it would be insulting and patronising toward Muslims/Hindu's and Christians alike!

I just think people should be allowed to beleive in what they want to beleive. I guess there might be some people out there intent on trying to destroy what people beleive in, but they'll only lose in the end.

Agreed. I once worked in an office that was predominently Asian and myself and a few male colleague were the only non-Asian, non-Muslims in the office and it just seemed natural to respect each others cultures without even thinking about it.

To obsess about it too much is to emphasise the differences instead of celebrate them. They used to bring in food for an office party at the end of Ramadan, we used to schedule meetings to let them get away in time to eat (during Ramadan) and EVERYBODY sent each other Christmas cards!

I think it's just some people in the house of lords or wherever, doing what THEY think should be done, instead fo what the people want. I wonder if they would put this to the vote, or whether they would be scared because they know that no-one would agree with them.

Exactly zx50 - there's FAR TOO MUCH politics based on their own opinions and how they want to look, rather than the opinions of their constituents.
