Oh wow, back in the days when I used to get to go into town on a Saturday I used to think that wee stall thing was great but never actually saw anybody buy a paper from the guy.

here's a lovely letter from tonight's EE that I'd like to share :D

"full marks to your columnist Cameron Stout for turning down the chance to try cocaine - and having the guts to admit it in the paper. Cameron is a role model for the young and his admission might bring ridicule from some in the form of peer pressure, which is at the heart of the whole drug problem. He did the right thing and was brave and right to talk about it."

awww bless

The night I could really have done with them putting the column up on the website they haven't done it. There is a bit in the column this week about something to do with the 'North-east's branding exercise' - yes you can give me into trouble for not keeping up with local news but I don't have a clue what it's about. Maybe Cameron can explain when he's next on BBFans as whatever it is he seems to be backing it. Very sorry folks.

Other than that there is a bit about politics and the politicians looking very bored and sleeping during speeches while they were on the TV, quite understandably Cameron didn't find this very impressive and he mentions how the 2,000,000 votes he got to win BB were more than those cast by Scots in the last elections and how it's maybe because the public can 'identify' with the people on BB as opposed to people finding their work boring enough to have a nap during it! There's a bit about being in Spain and how it's nice weather over there - mentions how in Orkney the days are rapidly drawing in. (Orkey's not the only place - really dark while walking home today and that's not even very late.) Oh and the last bit was the uproar Terry Wogan has created in Aberdeen by saying butteries taste like "dried sea water", Cameron says he should warm them up first and eat them with something he likes on them. (dunno about the rest of you but I agree with Terry's sentimnets towards butteries :puke: )

Sorry, that summary was really dire tonight so hopefully they'll put the column on the website tomorrow.

Our politicians were critisized for the same reason years back - eventhought they didn't sleep, they just weren't there at all, only then when they had to vote for something. These days media is making lists that who's at meetings and who's not, that's what public likes. And when they are shown live on TV, speeches are quite fun to listen and everybody tries to be there. But I've been told that politicians weren't there because they have alreayde read the speeches before and they have been speaking in their own smaller groups things over. It's same in municipality's level. The work is done before we have the last meeting were we accept or not the decisions. I don't know how it works in UK. But sleeping is not suitable at all from my point of view as well ::lol::

Are people really so stupid that they don't know what's the weather is like after the light summer 'in north'? Maybe they just have summer-cottages in north and at the winter they live at their winter-homes and live their lives and do their daily work etc. stuff. Over here some people lives at summertime over here and in the winter time for example in Spain. I usually dream to live winter months in Lapland, where's dark from 2 p.m to 10 a.m and a lot of snow and silence, but have only visited there week or two at the time because my work is south from Lapland. ;)

you'd be surprised Mari at how some people relocate to a new home and have no idea how different it is going to be. There was a story on the British news recently about newcomers to a fishing village who were complaining because of the noise of the boats and that the seagulls were "too loud". Speechless......

I suppose if people were never in the siuation themselves they don't really have to think about it.

It's quite a shame though when you go to school just as it's starting to get bright and then it is going dark by the time you get home again. Doesn't bother me all that much but some people get really depressed don't they.

yes Jezi (hi by the way)...its called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), sufferers have to use light boxes to make sure they maintain the light levels they need, to produce a certain chemical in their bodies, I think.

I don't mind the dark nights but i think everyone is affected by light levels to some extent or another. Sunny days make us feel happier and more positive, while on dark winter nights we want to curl up indoors and eat comfort food.

I'm not surprised, trolleydolley - back in '80s I had a friend who couldn't sleep in a tent in the summer time, because birds sang too loud in the middle of the night. ::lol:: Certain things have to experience by your own senses, certain things you'll learn at school. at least over here, if you're willing to learn.

And I have always thought how unnatural it is these days that people have long holidays when it's summer and there's lot of sunlight almost whole day around available and when it's winter people work, have tens of hobbies, study hard etc. the whole day and week around and don't let themselves rest (my idea of resting is not passive, you can rest when you read, do handicrafts, meet your friends etc.) like nature does. Few hundreds years ago people in agriculture worked hard when it was summer and when it was winter they did handicraft and only compulsory daily tasks and seasonal tasks which was ment to do in the winter - but not as hurry as people does these days. People who were working for goal companys or factories or as a servants, work was a different idea of course.

So far this week they've put up a wee bit of the column Cameron's Column

The rest is about how Madonna is apparently very strict with her kids and how he doesn't believe taking things so far will work. It says his parents were quite strict with them and threatened to put things in the fire if they weren't tidied away - when this happened to one of his toy cars he didn't do it again! He'd like to think '(he'd) be a firm but fair parent.' Doing up a flat in Spain last week and how they did a lot of hard work, they only had to get a workman to put in the water heater and apparently he worked very very quickly! Coming back to Glasgow and seeing what the rain has done and he says he'd be gutted if his house flooded but is lucky as it's up a brae. The other bit is about being slightly 'cynical' regarding programmes such as The X Factor because the people making the shows are doing it just to make money.

Seen as they've not put any up yet (so far) you lot get a full summary of the column this week you lucky people!

There's a bit about how his New Year resolution is going to be to lose weight, he mentions how people tell him he doesn't look overweight (I'd agree...) but he actually is. He says he feels sorry for the women like Lesley Ash who've had disasterous outcomes with cosmetic surgery.

There's a bit about manners and how on the plane to Birmingham he read that this is the place that supposedly people have the best manners and when he got there someone asked him for a light and when he informed them he didn't smoke they said 'well you should start!' Apparently Edinburgh are the rudest city en écosse and how in his opinion the people there are not as friendly as those in Aberdeen or Glasgow.

Getting invited to Craig BB6's 21st birthday party in some posh place in London and how he hopes he can go despite never having met him. He thinks he got invited because of how Cameron defended him about Anthony and stuff in the EE.

Going to the EE Aberdeen's Champions awards on Friday and really looking forward to it. (maybe what these are is self explanatory from the title but instead of one of my explanations I'll try and find a link for you all - when you read about the people up for nomination though they are all so deserving.) Oh and here he mentions about how he's looking forward to starting panto rehearsals.

He says about how his friend bought him a toy Duke's car which he's delighted with (there's a photo of him with it but my scanner doesn't work...) amd how he's going to see the new Duke's of Hazard film tonight but feels it won't be as good as the original.

Last but not least the new feature of his column 'Stout's Smilers' where he's going to say wee things that made him smile. This week it was seeing an Austin Cambridge car in Birmingham which apparently looked 'stunning'.

Woah that is even longer than usual but I have to say that is one of my favourite columns so far. ()^

It's meant to say "worst".

I did name felicity, but sometimes they keep names out for privacy or other reasons.

That teaches me for typing too quickly.

They didn't actually edit the name out - just spell it wrongly so I presumed it wasn't her...
