In this week's column there is a bit about The Apprentice and how he used to think it was great but feels Alan Sugar has "become too big for the programme". Playing organ at a friend's wedding last weekend in Orkney and how for the wedding cars after the ceremony they had 3 minis sitting waiting to take them to the reception (there's a nice picture too). Byker Grove getting axed and how he thought it was great, also mentions Ant and Dec and how they still nowadays come across as normal. The pauses in Deal Or No Deal again and how he used to be a fan of Noel Edmonds but not now, he says it doesn't work.

However... the main bit this week is about Big Brother and how the music makes his heart stand still, mentions the rumours etc. Best paragraph though...

"I'm also delighted to discover I've hit the 20,000-plus mark for BB watchers who've read this Evening Express column through the fans' website.

Isn't technology wonderful?"

I wonder which website that could be? :D

Came up with a theory last night as to when they put the column on the website and when they don't... let's just say today has totally gone against what I came up with so you'll have to put up with the summary again lol!

Being hooked on BB already, Shahbaz being the most irritating and how if it wasn't for the brotherhood he thinks he would have been evicted this week - he says although he's annoying he has a "strange compulsion" to keep watching him but if he was a housemate he'd have one of those to get him out! Mentions him "whingeing" (don't ya just love the EE's spelling techniques?) about leaving the other night and how he thinks if you moan about it three times you should automatically get chucked out. Mentions how the housemates haven't all been given their cases yet and how great it would be if they were replaced with another 14.

Elsewhere we hear about the loves and hates survey (see BBFans thread here for more) but mentions how British Airways may be the favourite... until another company offers half price for the same flight. Scots having £4.5 billion worth of debt on credit cards and how he was brought up with parents who didn't buy anything they couldn't pay for but he feels sorry for those who are vulnerable and lured into it by the many things that come through your door. Outraged to hear about Aberdeen apparently being "soulless and "snootier" than Dundee and how it's rubbish and the person who wrote it can't have visited the Aberdeen he does. (full article in BBFans news here Finally feeling sorry for Paul McCartney and Heather Mills in their break-up and how some of his friends have divorced and he finds it very hurting for everyone involved. Mentions how the public nature of their marriage and the age difference is what he thinks would have had an effect. (for various press articles on that see the topic here)

lol, that was useful having quite a few of the things already in BBFans threads - don't have to go into as much detail...

Well the theory has worked this week, so here we go as it's not on the website again I'm afraid.

Main bit is again about Big Brother and Shahbaz and Dawn getting chucked. He doesn't think Shahbaz should have been put in in the first place and mentions about Dawn's code thing. Speaks about them complaining about Dawn's BO and how he couldn't understand the fuss they were making about it but after sitting behind a man who "stunk like a wet dog" in Glasgow at the weekend he can see why! Eeewww!

Being on his cruise around Scotland at the moment, having a great time it sounds but having Big Brother withdrawal symptoms (?!!?!). He says pop down to the Aberdeen Harbour to see it when it docks there on Friday but that's a "bit" of a journey for some of you lot I guess!! ;) Seeing Shell from BB5 in Glasgow and how she's got her first-class honours in history of art and is going to work at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Says about how lovely she is and how he's going to go and visit her in September. Also how Steph from "his" Big Brother has now got a house in Redditch with her partner and how she's planning a garden party but he can't go. All the great stuff that's now happening at HMT* since its refurbishment with the singer Kate Rusby (?! ) coming and how Miss Saigon which has just finished a near enough month long run was one of the most popular ever. Mentions that he's hosting a show in August called 'You Must Remember This'.

Best bit though, mentions about that guide thing last week slagging off Aberdeen and how a taxi driver was telling him that last year Aberdeen had the most sunshine altogether in Scotland despite all the complaining the local people do and how tourists always tell the taxi driver how much better it is than what they expected. (customers please take note!!!)

*HMT - as has likely been put here before is His Majesty's Theatre which is the big theatre in Aberdeen. It was shut for about 18 months (I think it was that anyway?!! Feel free to correct if anyone knows...) and re-opened in September last year. It's a pretty magical place. :D

Kate Rusby is brilliant. Fantastic voice, wonderful personality. Barnsley's greatest treasure, i.m.o.

Even the 'chat' between songs is very entertaining. Amusing stories from her band members - even useful recipes.

By the way, what's wrong with the smell of a wet dog?

Cheers GG. I wasn't saying she was bad, just that I hadn't heard of her.

and the smell of a wet dog is vile.

Oh Jezi, I wasn't thinking you were criticising Kate Rusby...I realised you hadn't heard of her - but don't worry - most people haven't!

I was just glad of an opportunity to rave about her. I see it's Oct 2nd when she plays HMT.

As for the other matter - I think it depends on who the dog is. ::lol::

You never know. NYC is a fair size all the same, so we might not bump into one another. Stranger things have happened all the same...

Don't ask me why but they have put the column in two parts on the website this week :-?

So click HERE for the main bit about Big Brother and HERE for items about the Ellon festival, car insurance, Gordon Ramsay/Cliff Richard and football stuff.

Yes, it was nice the way Davina looked after Sam, and it is easy to forget that SHE is only 19. ;)
