Big Brother's infamous gnomecam is watching you.
At least it is if you live in Ickford, where the cult television programme's 30 gnome residents originated.
The figures were purchased by Channel 4 from Langdon London UK, which is responsible for the distribution of the German-made gnomes, in the UK, North America and Iceland. The Big Brother gnomes were obtained through the business's web-based company gnomesforyou.com.
Geoff Pearman, managing director, admits he was very surprised when he discovered his little men were destined for stardom. He said: "Channel 4 approached me asking if we could supply gnomes for a production, but they didn't say what the production was. Once they had agreed to buy them they asked if I was interested in knowing why they wanted them and said that they were for the Big Brother house. It is not a programme I have ever watched before but I do now. Occasionally I see the gnomes and get quite excited. They're my boys.
"The last time I saw them they were being thrown in a swimming pool which I thought was a bit cruel."
Big Brother 6 stars a variety of gnomes including one with a fishing rod, one with a knife in his back and the gnomecam.
