I am a cat lover. I love them madly and Makosi has just lost my support because I cannot support someone who has eaten cat by choice. I feel the same about dog too but as a cat lover it gives me nightmares.

Its on the official site and I feel sick and am shaking. :-( :puke:

I think it would get to me more, if i found out that they killed/slaughtered them barbarically. Not many people know the way they slaughter cows in the slaughter houses, people think they just kill them straight away, but they don't. So i guess it's the same for cats really, if i found out that they killed them in a totally inhumane way, i wouldn't be happy at all. Maybe the RSPCA should investigate these slaughter houses, maybe the reason they don't, is because they know they would have a hell of a job on their hands. Very slightly off topic in parts, but you get the general idea.

In the UK all the slaughter houses are strictly controlled but the same can't be said about a lot of 'Foreign' countries. DON'T ever look at a Greek or Turkish butchers, where they do the slaughtering 'on site'

I don't think i could be in a butchers shop, where they killed and chopped something up right infront of me. People who go to these places must have hard hearts.

But I thought they were more humane? My ex is Turkish and he said that he didn't eat halal meat bcz it was a dirty environment where they slaughter the poor animal but all my other Muslim friends insist it is a more humane method. I haven't studied this in depth bcz I literally get kept awake at night worrying about animals suffering. If I could do something about it it might be worth traumatising myself for. If not then I need to avoid it. I'm guessing that that attention-seeking freak, Makosi is saying she ate cat-meat. Cameron please give me that 700 bcz I need to get to London and drag the 'me me me' b*ch out by her stupid hair and give her a slap while I'm about it! :8o:

your muslim friends are liars, its not more humane, its a barbaric killing, a total disgrace in the name of religion :8o: :8o:

halal killing should be banned, and the import of halal meat banned, its a fecking disgrace :8o: :8o: :8o: :8o: :8o: :8o: :8o: :8o:

oh zx50, i think you've been watching veggie propaganda videos again, every slaughter house in britain has to have a vet present who checks all the animals are healthy when they arrive and killed humanely with a captive bolt gun, basically you've been watching shite propaganda

I don't think they're lying, maybe they are misinformed then. That's upsetting tho. I can't help wondering what kind of vet could take on such a job, not being sarcastic, genuinely curious, the poor animals will be killed anyway so why do they care for them then let them die? I don't know what a 'bolt captive gun' is but please don't tell me. Unless I have the chance to do something about it then I don't want to know. What I'm asking is, is it true that they aren't killed as badly as I think? Is it relatively painless? It makes me crazy to worry about this!

Halal killing is more humane. The animal's carotid artery is severed and they lose consciousness before they die. The severing of the artery is likely to be painless, as a very sharp knife is used by a very practised slaughterman.

It's much more humane than some work experience kid with a bolt gun shoving it into a pig's brain in non-halal abbatoirs.
