Kingston University student and former Big Brother contestant Marco Sabba has accepted damages over false claims that he was sacked from his job for groping men.

The 22-year-old law student, who was a contestant in last summer's Big Brother five, brought high court libel proceedings against celebrity magazine Star after an article published in June last year said he was fired from Phones 4 U for sexually assaulting male colleagues.

It has since been proven that Marco resigned from his job as a sales assistant in February last year to concentrate on his studies.

His advocate at the high court case, David Price, announced last week that publishers Northern and Shell plc had made an unqualified offer of amends.

The offer was accepted although the exact amount will be set at a later date.

Speaking for the magazine, David Hurst offered sincere apologies and accepted the allegations were false and should never have been published.
