THE circus that is Big Brother will come to a dramatic finish on Friday, with the promise of fame and fortune for the Zimbabwean nurse -- Makosi Musambasi.
Like all things black in Britain, Makosi will probably not be noticed by the voting public when the votes come in, but one cannot fault her for trying.
Our readers have justifiably lashed out at the 24-year-old cardiac nurse for her excesses, including a sex-romp in the pool with a housemate and two lesbian snogs.
Our readers were also right to complain when she appeared to suggest eating dog meat and mice was normal practise in Zimbabwe.
Our readers were also right in expressing horror at Makosi's general lewd conduct, and her comfort in nudity.
But this week, we ask all our readers to rally behind Makosi. I personally have agonised over this, but I realise it's no longer about a loud mouth oddball with super size breasts and a sex appetite the size of Kilimanjaro.
Makosi now represents more than just lesbianism and the accompanying prurience. Her fate on Friday will decide how far Britain has come to embracing blacks and rewarding excellence.
The failure of blacks to win reality TV shows can appear to be a genuine desire by the British public to make only the best winners, but evidence suggests it doesn't always work that way -- the case of Lemar and Fame Academy being a good example.
The point here is that Makosi should not win, or lose, because she is black. She should win because she has plumbed the depths of iniquity, just like Jade Goody, to fully deserve the Big Brother title -- irregardless of its moral hollowness.
New Zimbabwe.com is however, not diverted from the view that we would rather Makosi had not participated or when she did, handled herself better. We are sure many Zimbabweans truly wish her the best of luck and genuinely hope she wins the £100 000 for her sake.
