Eugene is struggling to come to terms with being £50,000 richer tonight, the burden of guilt causing him to burst into tears.

"The right answer would have been to walk away and leave it to the winner," he told Kinga.

"I would have taken it," Kinga assured him.

"But I am high and mighty with morals, aren't I?" he said, causing Kinga to ask if he thinks she is not.

Eugene went to his bed to cry his eyes out and again Kinga comforted him.

"I wanted to come in here to be liked!" he wailed. "I wanted everyone to think Eugene's a really nice person, really genuine."

Kinga kissed him and told him, "I'm always here for you, Eugene and I know you're a wonderful person. The public know you're a lovely person."

"They probably think I'm a b****** now," he said, which made Kinga laugh, unintentionally. She told him there were probably thousands of people watching him urging him to take the money.

But somehow Eugene couldn't be convinced that he wasn't the spawn of the devil himself. "The funny thing is, I thought by being myself and being genuine, I might have a small chance of winning. By trying to stand up for what I believed in. Now I've selfishly taken half of it."

"I suggest you start dealing with your decision," advised Kinga.

"I feel guilty for the people who voted me in who will be disgusted with me now," he said. "That's the last time I go to the Diary Room when they ask for a Housemate to."

Quite right. If he won any more money he wouldn't be able to live with himself.

If he's that bothered why doesn't he split the money 3 ways and give it to Kinga, Makosi and Craig? Hmmmm, losing votes here I'll wager!!!

Why would he care if he loses votes? He's 50k up!

good for him. dont tell me the others would not have done the same not knowing about the increase in money. i dont care who wins now. the rest did not deserve £100.000 anyway.

I must admit being a bit surprised that Eugene took the money, as I thought he would be the least likely to do so. I certainly don't hate for doing it

All the other HMs would have done, without question

so now only one person can win £100k, lets make sure that doesn't happen

£50k is more than enough for Eugene

Well she knows she's hardly likely to win after a week in the house. If she'd been there the whole thirteen weeks then we'd see how nice she'd be about it..

Looks like he's starting to think about it-I wonder if this statement is genuine or whether he is just trying to excuse himself.Come on man you can't have it both ways.He still has the option of sharing it or giving it to the winner.

I think it Eugene had told the rest of the housemates after he came out of the diary room, then i might have thought more of him, unless big brother told him not to maybe. I suppose people can make mistakes like that, and then regret it afterwards. I know one thing though, Makosi won't be very happy about Eugene taking half of the prize money for himself, not sure what Anthony will think though. I don't get exactly how this twist will affect big brother though

personaly, i dont think makosi cares much about the money issue, she is lined up in her head to sell her sex romp story to the papers and push for her cherry tango advert She will then move on to all the lds mags and heat blah blah

Well this is the thing really, even if they don't win big brother, but come close to winning, they are bound to make money off photo shoots and newspaper deals, and whatever else they can get. I personally wish them all the best for doing this, i mean, why should they deprive themselves of the money, just so they can let the winner take all. Whether Makosi will make a lot i don't know, people might be desperate to hear her story, but will it be true though??
