A North-east fishermen's mission is on course to net about £12,000 from its biggest fundraiser of the year.
About 5,000 people flocked to Peterhead's old fish market for the annual harbours open day organised by the local branch of the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen.
Former Big Brother winner Cameron Stout launched the event. He was such a hit at the 2004 open day that he was asked to return to help get this year's event under way on Saturday.
There were more than 40 trade exhibitors, music, drama and dancing, cookery demonstrations, tours of Peterhead lifeboat and a car wash.
It cost about £3,500 to stage, but Peterhead mission superintendent George Shaw is confident that it will roughly match the amount raised last year.
He said: "There were spells in the day when we couldn't have packed any more people into the market. The support we received was fantastic and we're very grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a fantastic success."
