The section where Davina calls out the housemates names imediately before announcing the evictee gave the HM's an inkling on how they were perceived.
Was that right or was that wrong?
Is it now part of the programme with its pantomime spirit?
Or should Davina make that part of the announcement inside the studio where its quiet, before going to collect the evictee?

She should do it inside the studio. I know BB has gone further and further away from its original concepts as the shows have gone on, but one that they should attempt to enforce is no contact with the outside world. It amazes me that BB would probably be upset if one person threw a tennis ball into the garden that said 'Makosi out' on or something similar, yet they're more than happy for hundreds of people to give the HMs a chance to hear how they're doing!

I don't think they should, because this way, we will see them for what they really are. By saying "for what they really are", i mean they won't change their behaviour, just because they think they are being disliked. And the same goes for cheer's as well. By not hearing cheer's, they might not be overly confident of winning, basically, they are just blind as to what the crowd think.

Yes they should hear the boos. It's a popularity contest after all. (at least for the hms) Anyway we listen to what they have to say for 11 weeks, so why shouldn't they get a bit of feedback on it.

I actually think Endemol or whoever are being a bit hypocritical here anyway. They state to the housemates that they can't have any contact with the outside world, or knowing what's going on in it anyway, and yet they let them hear the boo's and cheer's, AND, they also play a video recording from home to them.

;) Nope I thought that it was a show where there was no conntact with the outside. Might as well let them have radio and tv next.

No. They should have no contact with the outside world at all

I preferred it back in the earlier series, when Davina announced it from the studio.

Letting the housemates hear the reactions of the crowd in week 2 was the beginning of the end for series six!

 absolutely nicki those series were far better for no contact and a bit of depravation didnt do them any harm either, very funny at times, this year they were far to lax didnt get the impression at all that they were shut off from the public .In fact once or twice I thought that they had been briefed prior to the event.

Ideally they shouldn't have ANY feedback from the outside world.

The game works because they have no compass to guide their behaviour other than their fellow housemates. Those HM's then act as a group to put forward the two (or more) for public vote. It is at that point (and only that point) that we, the GBP, have our say.

It really is that simple.

While in principle housemate shouldn't hear the booing and cheering, I have to admit that watching the housemates reactions (and seeing them watch messages from home to a lesser extent) was one of the high points of the show.

I think this is the same sort of thing as dropping the psychologist show - it's drifiting away from the concept a bit, but it makes for better viewing.

I do think it change the nature of the game and the nominating.
Letting them know Max was an early favourite completely changed the way people behaved (both Team Saskia and those outside it. remember saskia only latched onto max after she knew he was popular, who's to say things might have been different if she didn't know.)
It clearly was responsible making the gulfs wider between the groups, something we all complained about when the interaction stopped.

the booing and cheering changed BB6.

the show was never the same, after (week 5-6, was it??), when Saskia's and Maxwell's name's were announced to cheers and clapping.

They let it go to their heads.
They got arrogant and cocky.
It cost them dearly.

That one defining moment, changed the dynamics of BB6.

I agree.Wasn't it week 2 (end of) when they were all up and there was a roll call of everyone in the house.I don't know why people would be misled by who turned up that night and was closest to Davina's microphone. It's hardly a reliable poll.Just as someone getting worked up by a shout over the fence.
