Thing is - he didn't just have to stand there and look pretty. He had to take his turns on the autocue. And I felt bad for him, as it was obviously beyond him. I think he'd be quite good at just chatting to people, once he got over his nervousness, and as his diary room date with BB proved, he can be very quick witted with funny oneliners.

I think with an autocue, you would have to make it look as if you were casually glancing at the autocue screen, everytime you read your next part. I have seen "experienced" people do this, and even with them, i could tell why they were looking at that little screen for. I don't know what it must have been like for Anthony, but i'll sharp see.

It might just be the way he talks, slang to be precise. It will be hard talking properly if you are used to speaking in slang, but he needs to work on this. If this is what people are talking about. Anyway, to be honest, i didn't really think there was anything wrong with his speech in the house. When doing his interview, it could have had maybe a bit more depth, but as for what his speech was like inside the house, seemed okay to me.

To be honest, I was expecting him to be really dreadful on this, so I was quite pleasantly surprised. He wasn't brilliant, but he was better than I was expecting. You could see that he was reading, but I liked it when he got a bit tongue-tied and said 'taxi for Hutton' and was able to laugh at himself.

omg! Arrestable offence there! ()^

I didn't see it, so can't really comment, but having been in the CD:UK audience a few times in years gone by, I was able to appreciate just how difficult live TV can be.

Of course he's not going to be brilliant - he's never done it before, and it's unlikely he had any coaching for it!

It is... but it's filmed as if it was live - there's no stopping and starting.

Live or not, TV presenting doesn't come naturally to many people at all!
