BIG Brother fans did a double-take when Birkenshaw lookalike Michael Schewtschuk came face-to-face with the show's winner, Geordie Anthony Hutton.
The 24-year-old was voted best double for the real-life 1970s disco dancer – and the two came face-to-face during BB's live Reunion Show on August 14.
Plumber Michael said: "It was absolutely fantastic. I met all the housemates, including Anthony, and even got to look around the Big Brother house.
"During the show I had to keep a box over my head while they showed Anthony pictures of me with his family. They were saying things like 'who's that with your family?' and 'doesn't he look like you'.
"It was a big surprise for him when I was finally revealed, but he agreed that we looked similar – he said it was like looking in a mirror.
"Anthony seemed like a normal, down-to-earth guy though. All the housemates seemed like normal people."
After the show Michael managed to sneak into the famous house.
"One of the security guards said I could have five minutes inside the Big Brother house, so I managed to get in and take some pictures.
"People still ask if I'm related to Anthony. Some were asking me for my autograph in the hotel afterwards because they thought I was the real Anthony."
Michael was voted best Anthony lookalike on Channel 4 programme Big Brother's Little Brother in July.
His reward was to spend a day with Anthony's family, who live in Consett, County Durham, and the chance to disco dance in front of hundreds of people at a Newcastle club.
He said: "The dancing was great fun but I was very nervous. I've never done anything like it before. Anthony's family were very down-to-earth so I got on well with them. They were just a typical northern family. They all seemed to think I look a lot like him."
Now Michael is hoping to be snapped up by a lookalike agency.
"I'd be very tempted if somebody wanted to sign me up," he said. "I wouldn't mind if somebody wanted to pay me for just looking like him!"
