Just to let you know about the BBC's new word and dialect quiz which is going out on Radio Scotland every Friday at 11.30am for the next seven weeks.

It's great fun and anybody interested in language/words/accents/dialect should enjoy it.

Aww! There was one I especially wanted to hear but that's in school time. Shall have to ask someone who listens the answer I want to know.

Thanks for posting though.

The link to this can be found HERE. You then have to click on "listen again here" on the top right hand side of the site and then scroll down the page to the very bottom and click on "Your Word Against Mine".

Oh yeah, I forgot about that listening again later option - I listened to one radio Scotland interview goodness knows how many times one day. Wonder if you can still get it now

No the interview I'm speaking about was at the end of June/beginning of July before I saw the show it was talking about so it likely isn't still there - it was a nice interview though.

Shall remember and listen after singing tomorrow.

 It's very kind of you to say so, cc, thanks a lot. The big boss of BBC Scotland is very happy with the quiz, so that's great news for the whole production team.

I'm away on some broadcast training with the BBC next month, so I'm pleased about that. Well, I think I'm pleased at least - either it means there's a chance I'll be working with them some more, or else they think I'm pants!

I really love doing radio, to the extent that I've been up at 4.30am the past two Sundays to go and do the 6-9.30am breakfast show in Aberdeen...

It's funny because a lot of TV people you meet say they wish they could get into radio. It always stuck me as odd, until I had done some radio and then I could see why.
