Vanessa, from Croydon, was evicted after seven weeks in the Big Brother house this summer.

Now she is writing her own music and is confident of topping the charts.

Speaking from a recording studio in Streatham, south London, Vanessa said: "I would describe my style as R and B with a more commercial slant - along the lines of Destiny's Child and Javine.

"I want to get a chart hit and be in the Top 10. I want to sing on Top Of The Pops - that has always been a dream of mine."

Vanessa, who was working as a shop assistant before auditioning for Big Brother, said she had been spotted by record producer Charles Bailey during her stint in the house.

She said: "He saw me dancing and performing on Big Brother so he knew I had the moves, but he didn't know if I could sing. He asked me to come down to his studio and sing a few songs.

"I was amazed when he said I was good. I never knew I could sing. Now I realise I actually have a good voice. I am so grateful I have been given a chance to do this."

Vanessa, who lives at home with her family in Croydon, is the second housemate from Big Brother to score a recording deal.

She added: "Kinga has been in the recording studio so we have been talking a lot about the business together. Science and Lesley desperately wanted to get into the business, but it never happened.

"I never thought when I auditioned for Big Brother that I would end up with a record deal. I guess this has happened to me for a reason. I am so excited. I'm over the moon."

Well, i haven't heard her sing, so i can't comment on how bad or good her voice is. Don't know if it reported that she sang while being in the house.

even if she was crap they could probably make her sound ok. I'm amazed though. She as so boring in the house and so annoying in her audition they are going to have to be miracle workers to make her likeable :-?

3 words. You are kidding!!!!!!!! OMG I think I'll find a cat, strangle it (not really) and release the subsequent sound as a CD. It's bound to beat that 'thing' in the charts (not that it will deserve the word chart if she gets anywhere near it).

Well, I'm not sure with even my legendary audio editing talents, that I'd be able to make her sound semi-professional.

She is an attractive young woman, but seemingly dumb as a house brick, and as we all know, does not have the best of lingustic abilities.

Her Makosi and Orlaith used to do singalongs together and she was rubbish

She wasn;t even that good at dancing! I'm sure Makosi saskia and orlaith were better!
Oh well good luck to her, its quite impressive for someone that did nothing in the house

you cannot be serious, she has less charisma than a dead pidgeon, wheather she can sing or not she hasnt been a member of the human race long enough to qualify for the status of entertainer, ...cough... oh dear this is awful

The important part here is it's a six figure 'deal' not a six figure 'advance'. Basically, this mans that Vanessa will be paid the usual industry rate (9 percent of 90 percent of net sales minus all the record company's expenses) and somewhere in the contract there is a six-figure bonus that's only given is she reaches a certain sales target - which might be having 7 number 1 albums for all we know! Only if it was a six-figure advance would she be sure of getting the money - and even then it's reclaimed by the record company out of the 9 percent of 90 mentioned above.
