Overall the percentage of the target 16-34 audience fell during this years bb.

Did you watch it religiously? or skip bits?

I hope they learn lessons for next year.

It would be great to see some normal people given a go, rather than wannabe singers/pornstars/models etc.

For example- why pick Orlaith?? It was surely obvious that she just wanted to get famous? It was obvious to us from day one.

I must admit that I virtually stopped watching after the first 3 weeks. To me there wasn't a single person in there I wanted to win (like quite a few people here I've noticed reading over some of the old threads).

I think that the only way to learn from this years show is to go for a little of something, or someone, from previous series.

For instance, have someone genuinly in it for the sake of being in it (as in series one), a strong comical character (like Brian), from series 2....and so forth.

Question is, are we going to remember Anthony for anythin other than his homoerotic friendship with Craig?

As I've said else where on here I watched even less than I did last year and that was only the eviction shows. Series 2,3,4 were running like 24/7.
In fact most of the best bits this year were the eviction shows.

Normal people make better viewing and there still exists the possibilites of confrontations etc even with the nicest bunch. The BB3 book says that they thought they had chosen some of the nicest contestants and the rest is history.
What they are scared of is everybody getting on and there being peace and harmony. Though I still think the BB4 ratings thing was more down to their editing. Once they had the perceptions of the housemates set with the viewers they couldn't change things. I'm sure Ray and Cameron will agree that some were pertrayed totally different to how they saw them in the house. This is also why I never watch the highlights shows. I think it was BB3 when I started to realise the events were being shown out of sequence and snippits of conversations were being used to portray contests in different lights to get the results the producers wanted.

And again as I've said else where this was the second year that I watched BBAU to great detail including all the daily shows (well accept the Uncut Shows).

I agree that a mix of has worked in the past might work again. They certainly need to have a good look at things if they want to be able to continue the format in the UK.

I've said before that my first reason for applying / auditioning is purly being a BB adict. And secondly explore my personality to see how I'd adapt to living a such a group of people in that enviroment. Anything else that might result would just be a bonus.

Having followed the format from I think 24 countries it would for me be the ultimate challenge.

But what we don't want is 10 weeks of auditions and acting ,we want to see people trying to live in a captive enviroment trying to cope with everything that's put their way and that includes each other. We don't need sex mad people in their as this is another reason for people switching off.

You might get fed up with me in there after a short time but at least I'd have got in there for the right reasons.

Getting off the soap box now.

Larry, I gather from that you're a Big Brother addict (despite not watching much of this years show, like me).

I fair bit you said there I quite agree with.

Totally agree Larry. Cameron was portrayed as being a nice guy from the arse of nowhere who had strong religious believes. The truth is he was really a cockney sounding, beer drinking, jesus christ hating, nymphomaniac....honest!! ()^

Hahahaha. No bad Ray - having a hilarious time with Colet over.

Not having had the time to watch much of BB4 yet I can't comment on portrayal or how the live differs from the highlights but I've heard plenty from both sides of the fence.

A very kind fm organised videos and dvds for me of BB4 so there's a bit of watching to be done, when Ray's over on holiday. Or sometime lol.

Normal people?

I have no intrest in 'sheep', which is all so called normal people are, though to be fair there have been very few 'normal' people in the whole of Big Brother.

 loved last year bb5. this year gave up after 2 weeks couldnt stand watching makosi anymore she was so vile, did start to watch bits again later but turned off when she was on. Too many wannabees this year, too many rows, too much bitching, too much makosi, I do agree ordinary people make the best viewing BB3, BB5, BB2 were by far the best and most enjoyable. Not enough humour in there, Brian, johnny, bubble, ray, emma, michelle(bedsit) are perhaps the most memorable and made those series work

i love bb 5 so much, i had almost decided that i wouldnt like bb6 before it even begain, this is normal every year but normally i soon become drawn in. this year i have to say as much as i watched alot of it, it just wasnt the same. i feel that most of the housemate made us feel as if it was a drag being in there, like they were doing us a favour. i still can not believe that after all the years off bb the contestants still come out thinking they have all made it for life... Yes this can happen ie jade / kate... No offence cameron / Ray... i was not including u two in that comment. This year i think producers pick girls as long as they had big T**S and a gob to match. The blokes were all very insercure also with big gobs....
Remember in bb1 how big the nasty nick scandel was, events like that became everyday life in bb6.
i just wonder how the show can carry on with each year being pushed a stage futher. all good things must come to and end ..... we will just have to wait and see.............

Well, the relative disaster of the ratings this year, means they will hopefully put more normal-ish contestants in! Normals dull, but deliberatly eccentric is duller, hence why this years contestants were the worst ever :D

The females where just picked for Lads mags, and personally that made them the most unattractive of the lot!l

What BB7 should have is a mix of normal and mad, eccentric housemates just to see how the group would interact. We could all be surprised...look at Eugene and Kinga....they both complemented each other which was nice to see.

This year all they had were guys with too much of an ego and a bunch of desperate wannabes. Why pick people which are all the same
