But she checks out after 24hrs cos she says they're all potty! Big Bruv '04 winner now battling depression

BIG Brother sex swap girl Nadia Almada checked into the posh Priory clinic with depression - and then walked out because the place was driving her bonkers.

The busty transsexual winner of last year's show (left) was devastated after her fame began to fade and she was dumped by her showbiz agent.

The latest blow came after she was ditched by her boyfriend.

She admitted herself on Thursday to the North London clinic, which specialises in celebs' mental problems - then left the next morning.

A source close to Nadia, 28, said: "It was driving her mad in there. She wanted professional help. But after one night she realised it was all too much."

The source continued: "Nadia feels her career has hit a dead-end. She doesn't know where to go from here.

"She's been dropped by her management and is worried about not getting work. She's really depressed and isn't coping. It's so sad. Nadia's a lovely person."

After leaving The Priory, Nadia called fellow BB contestant Dan Bryan. The source went on: "They are close. When she told him she checked out to avoid going mad, he laughed and said she WAS mad."

Dan told The People: "For someone who is insecure this industry can be harsh. I plan to keep a close eye on her."

Portugese-born Nadia, who has shed weight and gone blonde since winning BB, was badly hurt when she lost South African lover Richard in May.

Nadia was not available to comment yesterday.

Is THIS why her head's not right?

THINGS may be getting on top of Nadia, but that didn't stop her getting a new hairstyle from fellow Big Brother star Craig Coates just before she went in the Priory.

Nadia popped into an Essex salon to ask camp crimper Craig, 20, for blonde extensions. A pal said: "She and Craig hit it off straight away. They got on like a house on fire."

Viewers of series six saw Craig struggle with his sexuality while transsexual Nadia was once a man called Jorge. Just as well it was a unisex salon then.

The transsexual winner of Big Brother Five, Nadia Almada, has spoken of her utter desolation since checking into London's Priory Clinic.

The reality TV star says she has hit "rock bottom", reports the Sun, and has been suffering from severe depression for the last six months.

Nadia believes that the root of her problems lies in her confused gender, and believes that she will never be able to leave Jorge, the man that she was, behind.

"Nadia thought becoming a fully functioning female would be the answer to all her problems, but after being so honest on Big Brother, she's still being treated as a fraud," a source revealed to the paper.

"Her exact words were, 'Maybe I should have stayed a man if everyone is always going to see me as a joke.

"'I'm in No Man's Land still'," Nadia confessed to the source.

The agonising doubts plaguing Nadia about whether she should have remained a man seem more than the star can cope with.

The acceptance she sought from the British public by entering the Big Brother house was not shown to her by Australian Big Brother viewers and Nadia, according to her friend, is worried that she will always be seen as a "freak".

I may be doing her an injustice but I'm not so sure Nadias' 'acceptance' was as widespread as she thought. She may have won the show - but that is not the same.

If she had wanted real acceptance perhaps she should have entered the show WITHOUT telling everyone that she was a transexual. Unfortunately it is the one fact that most readily comes to mind when people think of her.

No I did not like her last year - but it was nothing to do with her being a transexual and everything to do with her personality - perhaps our friends in Oz thought the same.

The thing is the politically-correct brigade yelled her victory from the rooftops, but I was never convinced she wanted the op, why did she never admit it in the house!!

Then talking about how she wanted to be a lesbian, pur-leaze! Attention-seeker all the way, you can easily enter and exit the "Priory" without publicity, yet Nadias managed both with the ultimate hype

I always thought the whole point of the Priory was that it secured privacy for people who entered.

Strange Nadia talking about wanting to be a lesbian - with her behavoir towards Shell I can't say I am suprised. (or is it her male side wanting to be hetro-sexual) That - unfortunately - is the whole point about Nadia and her op, she continues to use it as a means of gaining attention rather than acceptance in a different gender.

too much money, too much time on her hands.

these people seem to think it trendy and cool to go in the priory.

if she does have these problems then why go to the priory and not some other clinic away from the spotlight??

I don't think suffering people are concerned with how 'cool' they look. If it weren't the Priory then it would be somewhere else and the press would still get hold of it.

I'm glad Nadias starting to feel a little better. For one to feel that one has been born the wrong gender is unimaginable. Everyone deserves to live their lives with a bit of peace of mind and acceptance.

Yes, but I think most of us didn't think going on a trashy TV show, was the way to go for acceptance :-?

It doesn't seem to have done her any good at all, does it?
