Big Brother contestant Derek Laud is being invited to speak at the launch of a forum against gay hate crimes.
Wandsworth police are yet to contact Mr Laud, but hope he will speak at the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender (LGBT) forum that launches on Tuesday, October 25.
Mr Laud is gay himself and became known on the Channel 4 reality show for his eloquence. He is also a political speech writer and police hope he will deliver an encouraging message.
The police will be working alongside Galop an organisation that combats gay hate crime in launching the forum.
Chief Superintendent Joe Royle will be at the launch of the forum, along with organisations such as Stockwell Housing, LGBT Advisory Group, Gay Police Association, and Broken Rainbow. The launch will take place at Battersea Arts Centre from 6pm to 9pm.
