ANTHONY Hutton, winner of Channel Four's Big Brother TV show, joined other celebrities for a football match at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre last Sunday.

The match was part of trials for Sky One programme The Match, which pits a team of celebrities against a team of ex-professionals.

Other faces playing for a chance to get into the celebrity 11 included ex-boxer Nigel Benn and ex-cricketer Phil Tufnell.

You will definitely get to see how good he is because I read that Anthony is in the final squad of 20. I hope he makes it into the team and gets to play at St. James Park which will mean a lot to him

'Big Brother' winner Anthony Hutton will star in football reality show 'The Match'.

The Geordie dancer, who is a huge Newcastle United fan, has won a place on the celebrity team, which will compete against a squad of soccer legends, including Paul Gascoigne, Chris Waddle and Peter Beardsley.

He will train alongside a host of other stars, including 'I'm A Celebrity. Get Me Out Of Here' winner Phil Tufnell, 'Dream Team' star Jim Alexander and 'Coronation Street' actor Tom Craig.

'The Match', which starts on Sky One on Sunday, is Anthony's first job since leaving the 'Big Brother' house. He was last seen being carried home after binge-drinking himself into a stupor at the end of series party.

The handsome 24-year-old passed out during the lavish bash, in London's Kew Gardens, after downing countless bottles of his favourite tipple, Newcastle Brown Ale.

Before he was carried out by his taxi driver and a mystery blonde, Anthony spent the evening canoodling with a pretty producer who works for 'Big Brother' makers Endemol and even puckered up with fellow housemate Maxwell Ward.

Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton says it will be a dream come true if he makes the grade for The Match, the returning Sky One football reality TV show.

The 23-year-old Geordie burst into tears after winning Channel Four's pseudo-social game show in August and came mighty close to an emotional repeat performance this weekend after being told he was through the first round of trials.

Anthony is among a galaxy of fellow Z-list nobodies vying for a place in the celebrity side to tackle the retired pro side at Newcastle United's St James' Park stadium.

And the prospect of making the side to play at his hometown club was almost too much to bear.

"The thought of playing at home in front of a huge crowd is so emotional," he sobbed to a Daily Star reporter.

The Match returns to our screens on Monday and the Big Brother blubberer will be keener than most to be there.

He faces some stiff competition this year however, as some actually decent football-standard celebrities have turned up wanting to be in the team.

But there is still time to impress and the only stars to have secured their places in the celeb squad so far are rapper Harvey, singer Jonathan Wilkes, TV presenter Ben Shephard, sprinter Darren Campbell and actor Ralf Little.

I'm really glad (if not a bit surprised) that Tuffers got through. he's so funny! I'd hardly call some of the squad celebs though - Steve Brookstein?!
