RECORD AWARDS: IN THE BEST OF HEALTH
SCOTS health workers who go the extra mile for patients have been honoured at a special ceremony
The Daily Record Scottish Health Awards recognise NHS doctors, nurses, support staff and volunteers who show exceptional dedication and commitment to their jobs. Readers sent in thousands of nominations for 16 categories and expert judges had a tough task deciding the winners.
And dozens of nominees from across Scotland attended the star-studded award ceremony, hosted by newsreader Jackie Bird.
Scots actress Kathleen McDermott and
Big Brother's Shell Jubin helped hand out the accolades, along with Health Minister Andy Kerr.
He said: "These awards recognise the huge difference those working within our NHS make to people's lives in Scotland.
"Our NHS staff have a collective passion about improving the health of Scotland and helping make our NHS the best health service in the world"We don't celebrate success as much as we should and I'm pleased the Daily Record celebrates this fantastic service."
