THE pantomime season gets under way in Darlington this week - with the town's very own Pop Idol in the spotlight.
Zoe Birkett plays the lead role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast, whose stars met for the first time at the Civic Theatre last week to try on their costumes. She will be joined by The Grumbleweeds, starring as The Travelling Rogues, and
Big Brother winner, Anthony Hutton.
Anthony, of Consett, will play the role of the Jester.
People are advised to book early to make sure of their tickets. The panto runs from tomorrow until Sunday, January 22. Tickets cost £10, £15.50 and £18. Performance times vary, with shows at 2pm, 5.30pm and 7pm.
