Caring, confident, gifted and ambitious. The winners and nominees at the first Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards show the real face of our youth

The low-down on the stars

GETTING a peek backstage on the night was truly breathtaking stuff.

There was an air of excitement and anticipation in the changing rooms - as you'd expect on an awards night - as well as the overpowering smell of Lynx.

Out front was just as stunning, with the dining hall outdoing that of Hogwarts.

Mobbees of the evening were designer boys Justin and Colin, who also presented one of the awards. Hibs striker Paul Dalglish was also there, along with SPL's Julyan Sinclair and a whole raft of River City stars.

Julyan was to be found at the Scottish Big Brother table, along with his brother, Cameron Stout, and Federico.

The Fed told Young Scot: "I think I'm here as an example. If young people can act in completely the opposite way of everything I am, then it should relate to them being a decent person." Bless.
