ZIMBABWEAN Big Brother star Makosi Musambasi broke down Monday as she revealed her miscarriage heartache.
The sultry star of the British TV reality show said she lost her baby on August 3 this month, and revealed she nearly died too. She was nearly four months pregnant.
Makosi, 25, told New Zimbabwe.com: "A lot of rubbish was said and I just got too stressed. There was a lot of strain on my body and I think it came to a stage where the body just gave in."
Makosi's boyfriend has gone back to Zimbabwe and has not spoken to her since she told him she was pregnant. Makosi now fears his decision to turn his back on her could have killed their baby.
She said: "I still love my boyfriend, but I think he knew that when he went to Zimbabwe my blood pressure would rise and as a consequence, it got to the point of rupturing the placenta and killing the baby.
"Probably it was the plan that all this happened while he was away. A lot of things were said...his family was not keen on this and somehow, I don't see how the baby would have survived in an environment like that."
Makosi revealed that when she was admitted at the Wycombe Hospital near London, she was at the point of death -- and doctors told her she had been lucky to live.
She said: "The doctors actually thought I was going to die myself, that's how bad it became. I am now on tablets because I lost so much blood and I am close to being anemic now.
"My mum and dad are on the phone every day. They are stressing and can't understand why I am going through this...they are saying whatever killed the baby please let it not kill me."
Makosi's mum and dad live in Zimbabwe. Her mum works for the privately-owned Zimbabwe Independent newspaper.
Makosi, who revealed her joy at the possibility of being a mum just a month ago, insists she would never have considered abortion. She is now a devoted Christian and joined the Forward in Faith Ministries (ZAOGA) a month ago.
She said: "I would never have performed an abortion. People have a reputation and character and my reputation is one thing but it would be totally out of character for me to have an abortion.
"The people from my church have really helped me. If it wasn't for them, I would just be left with my cousins and parents."
Makosi, who prides herself for being a "strong woman" said nothing prepared her for the agony of being asked about the baby by well wishers.
"It's the hardest thing to explain that I have had a miscarriage. I made it a point not to tell the tabloids, but it just gets harder when people come to me and ask about the baby.
"I try and stay strong, but the last month has been the hardest for me because I was looking forward to being a mother."
Makosi said she will not allow the miscarriage tragedy to put her down, and intends to fulfill her diary schedule.
She is expected at an official Big Brother Final Night party at the Carphone Warehouse on Market Street in Manchester on Friday.
Later on Sunday, Makosi told New Zimbabwe.com that she would be at Oliver Mtukudzi's gig at the Wythenshawe Forum in Manchester
