Radiant Orlaith delighted with her 'bump'

Big Brother babe Orlaith McAllister poses proudly with her baby bump - confirming the worst kept secret in showbiz.

With one arm wrapped around her waist, property developer boyfriend Gary McCausland puts a protective hand across her stomach as the couple happily pose for photographers at the Dungannon Thomas Clarkes Gala Banquet in Armagh at the weekend.

Guests at the event said Orlaith looked radiant and told them that the baby was due next March.

The blonde model, who lives with McCausland in London, had angrily refused to confirm reports that she was expecting and threatened the media with legal action if the story was carried.

She insisted that her rights to privacy be respected and asked to be left alone.

But back home in the province at the weekend, she seemed relaxed and happy as she mingled with guests at the gala event at the Armagh City Hotel.

The couple met last year during Fashion Week Belfast and began dating.

McCausland, who comes from Co Tyrone, is the presenter of Channel 5 How To be A Property Developer.

Earlier this year, Orlaith, who relocated to London following her stint in the Big Brother house, moved in with her boyfriend.

A close friend of Orlaith's, who did not wish to be named, said the pair were delighted about the pregnancy. BT

Has preggers Orlaith done a mag deal?

So ex-Big Brother contestant Orlaith McAllister appears to have finally provided some public confirmation of the fact that she is pregnant.

The surgically-enhanced model was pictured patting her bump with TV presenter boyfriend Gary McCausland at an Armagh function.

But why has the gorgeous pouting Orlaith been so coy to date about her condition?

While giving a tetchy "no comment" to one journalist recently, she whined: "This is my body, this is my business."

This, of course, is the same body that was brazenly paraded naked day after day in the Big Brother House.

Some observers have been wondering if perhaps the lovely couple have signed an exclusive deal with a magazine, forbidding them from talking to anyone else about the pregnancy.

The Insider does not believe such cynical suggestions for a second.

Some readers may have been perplexed by the sight of individuals on our streets wearing these strangely old-fashioned uniforms.

Who exactly are they?

Salvation Army volunteers?

Members of a brass band?

Royal Mail delivery squads?

The truth is a bit more scary.

For this is the new look for the newly privatised traffic warden service in Northern Ireland.

But who exactly chose a uniform that harks back to a bygone era?

Maybe Orlaith is OK with mag deal

More whispers about The Insider's favourite former Big Brother contestant, Belfast's very own Orlaith McAllister.

Last week, we reported on scurrilous rumours that she was keeping mum (geddit?) about her pregnancy because of an exclusive deal with a glossy magazine. A well-placed source has now come forward to give credence to this suggestion, and mentioned OK magazine as the most likely suspect. Orlaith has also been signed up by Philosophy Today to pen an essay next month on 'The Relevance of Wittgenstein in a Post-Modernist World'. (All right, we admit it. We made that last bit up). belfasttelegraph

Baby Eva has brought us so much joy, says Orlaith

Orlaith McAllister and fiance Gary McCausland as they proudly show off new baby girl Eva.

Looking radiant and back to a slim size eight less than two months since giving birth, Orlaith and Gary happily pose with the new addition to their family.

In an exclusive interview with OK! magazine, the 27-year-old former model says that being a mum is "by far the best experience and the best job ever".

In the interview - which is accompanied by a series of pictures taken at the couple's home in Richmond, London, Orlaith and Gary reveal that they hope to marry in Dublin next year.

And they also reveal that they to plan to have more children to complete their family.

Speaking about the arrival of little Eva, Orlaith said: "I thought I could do it naturally but I ended up having an epidural because the pain was excruciating - but weirdly, it was the kind of pain you enjoy.

"I would do it again so many times over, so we definitely want more."

Orlaith tells how Gary was at her side throughout the birth and says he was " amazing" when she started to panic.

"He was at the top end stroking my head, but towards the end I told him to get down and watch the birth, so he did and he loved it.

"It was a lot easier having him there to keep me going."

And she also says that she bonded with the baby straight away.

"It's an overwhelming experience that words can't describe.

"It was amazing holding her in my arms, especially after feeling her kick inside me.

"I couldn't imagine life without her."

The Belfast beauty says she chose the name Eva because of the late singer Eva Cassidy, whose songs she played throughout her pregnancy.

And she says she even enjoyed being pregnant.

"I loved it and I really miss my bump now.

"I see pregnant women walking past me now and think how much I want that again because it's such a lovely feeling."
