Shah favourite with bookie to win Jigs n’ Reels

Boookmaker Paddy Power have made ex-Big Brother housemate Ray Shah their 2/1 favourite to dance his way to victory in a one-off charity showing of Jigs ‘n’ Reels on New Years Eve.

Hilda Fay, who plays barmaid Tracy in Fair City is the second favourite in the betting at 5/2, while Showbiz gossiper Trevor Keegan and ex Pogues bassist Cait O’Riordan are the current outsiders to impress the public at 9/1.

“Ray already has lots of fans from his time in the Big Brother house and he’s now best known for ‘Ray Makes Your Day’ on Dublin’s Q102,” said Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said.

“No doubt he’ll be looking for the public to return the favour and make his day by voting for him on the night!”

Charity Jigs ‘n’ Reels odds:

2/1: Ray Shah
5/2: Hilda Fay
9/2: Gary Cooke
6/1: Oisin McConville
9/1:Celia Holman Lee
9/1: Trevor Keegan
9/1: Cait O’Riordan

Charity Jigs 'N' Reels Specials:

5/1: Eamon Dunphy to appear on the judging panel
8/1: Any of the male celebs to "do a Flatley" and rip off their shirts while dancing
20/1: Any of the celebs to drop their partners while doing a lift
100/1: Any one of the celebs to break a leg while dancing.

Yes indeed. Heard him on the radio this morning, 'bigging up the Jesus' (the Dublin Gospel Choir were singing live in the studio). He was interviewing Santa later, I think, but I missed that bit.

That looks really cool, love the sound of those shoes!

Hope you have a fab Christmas.

We were discussing today how it was always "come round sometime" then it changed to "call me" then "text me" and now "bebo me" haha! The biggest timewaster ever, far too addictive!

Got a text from U.K. asking me to tape the show, and it's on now.

I know I should be concentrating on the footwork, but I've just been saying to husband 'isn't Ray GORGEOUS looking, no, really, isn't he?'

No harm in appreciating the glory of nature, I always say.

Will be voting for him, of course.

He did not get through to the 'final' - so I didn't watch the rest of it.

The judges said the music he was obliged to dance to was ridiculous.

His bubbly and charming personality lit up the screen, though, and of course, once again he was going above and beyond the call of duty to do his bit for a good cause.

:-D Thanks a mil GG.

I was so happy I didn't have to dance again. I was so nervous and I totally agree with the judges comments. Dancing to Westlife was a joke, it was way too slow but I had a great night either way.

Hopefully loads of money was raised on the night

Happy New Year everyone xx
