Panto's Pan of gold
IT'S been the most successful Pavilion panto ever.
This year's Peter Pan, starred Dean Park, River City's Stephen Purdon and Laura McMonagle,
Cameron Stout of Big Brother and Sean Scanlan, produced the best-ever box office receipts.
Pavilion boss Iain Gordon revealed the panto takings are £329,000 up on last year, with a total box office figure of £1.3million with more than 100,000 taking in the show.
The previous best figure for a panto - the Krankies' Jack and the Beanstalk at Christmas 2004 - has been beaten by £122,000.
Mr Gordon said: "Somehow I felt it was going to be a good year.
"We gathered a really good cast, a great mix of someone for everybody, covering all the age groups and we spent a fortune on a fabulous light show and stage set.
"But what we have achieved in terms of takings at the till is nothing short of amazing.
"If you give Glasgow audiences a good show they will turn out in their thousands."
