Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

This is the first time I am running the London Marathon and I am training really hard for it. I am determined to finish it, and in a good time as well! Anyone who wants to come along on the day and show your support is more than welcome to!

Well done Kinga, I hope she completes the course and doesn't bottle it like the last BB contestant did. ;)

Far be it from me to defend Jade, (I presume that is who your dig is aimed at Madeline), but I really do have something to say on this. I have been training for the marathon for some time now and have run a couple of 20 miles sessions. Now I know that Jade didn't train properly for the marathon and probably didn't take it seriously, but the fact that she managed 20 miles was pretty amazing. 20 miles just about finishes me off and I do wonder if I would have the energy to run another 6 miles after it. People tell me that the crowd and the euphoria of the day usually manage to get you through the last 6 miles, and I hope this is true, but Jade still did 20 miles which was impressive.

All in the name of charity

Thousands of runners will line up on Sunday to take part in the epic 26.2 mile London Marathon to raise money for charity.

One of the runners eager to reach the finishing line is Borehamwood resident and Big Brother 6 contestant Kinga Karolczak.

Having lost three-and-a-half stone, the 22-year-old took up the challenge to raise money for Women's Aid Federation Of England, which works to end domestic violence.

I read an article online about Kinga, and Makosi who was also taking place. Apparently Kinga gave up after 10 miles but Makosi collapsed at 22 miles and was taken to hospital. Of course Makosi, being Makosi, blamed the organisers and said it was because there was no water stations still open after Canary Wharf, which I doubt was true (unless she was walking it). There were water stations every mile and I believe extra ones in between were also set up and there were also stations giving out Lucozade sport every few miles and although there were a few water stations which had run out of water along the route when I went past, in the whole 26 miles, I only saw 3 stations which had run out of bottles of water and at one of them a St John's Ambulance crew were giving out cups of water from buckets. Also there were five shower stations to run through at various parts of the course and at two points I passed, the Fire Brigage had turned on a standpipe and you could run through that to cool off. I think it's fair enough if Makosi couldn't continue because she was exhausted, fainted or had blisters (she did say she had blisters also), but I don't think it is fair for her to blame the organisers, and tell untruths about them. She said in the article that they closed up after the faster runners had gone through, but this isn't true, the volunteers (amongst them boy and girl scouts, and all people giving up their own time for this) were still there cheering people on, but they had run out of water as so many people were taking extra bottles to pour over their heads and I believe also because of the heat more people than normal were taking more water than normal.

On a more positive note Glyn from last years BB finished in 5 hours and 2 minutes, so well done to him and Michelle Bass also finished in 8 hours and 30 minutes. She had to walk the second half due to a knee injury according to her official website.

Sounds typical of Makosi doesn't it? What a shame she comes across like that.

True Cameron. Just read again a bit more about Makosi. She took 10 hours, so obviously walked the entire way, so no wonder the water people had already gone home. BTW I meant to edit my first post, don't know how I managed to quote it instead.

Hope you have a great holiday Cameron.

The end of the road

After the enormous build up and months of training for the London Marathon, we've caught up with our runners to find out how they got on and how much they have raised for their charities.

-------------------------- Image

Big Brother 6 contestant Kinga Karolczak, 22, from Borehamwood, managed to run 17 miles before having to stop.

She said: "If there was £1million at the finishing line I would never have reached it. I was trained to jog, so I jogged the 17 miles. I was limping really badly and was getting worried. I was just worn out, but I tried my very hardest.
