FELLING FC paid tribute to former striker Chris Heron, who died earlier this year, with a fundraiser against a Gateshead Celebrity XI.
Former players Kevin Carr, John Beresford and Gary Bennett were among those who lined up to raise money for a trust fund for Heron’s young daughters Amber and Jessica.
Felling took a 3-0 lead with David Butterfield grabbing a brace and Alan Lamb a goal.
The celebrities, however, were not to be denied and goals from Newcastle legend Alan Shoulder and
Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton were enough to make honours even.
