Entrants figures rise for Waterways Ireland TriAthloneThe number of entrants for this year’s Waterways Ireland TriAthlone event is rising rapidly with close to 1,000 people registered. It is expected that last year’s total of 1,200 will be exceeded in the coming weeks.
The Waterways Ireland TriAthlone event is Ireland’s largest triathlon with 1,500 competitors due to compete on July 12. The entrants will range from Olympic hopefuls Emma Davis and Gavin Noble to celebrities such as Kathryn Thomas and Ray Shah along with those competing for charity or just doing it for themselves. “The shorter Try and Triathlon, which is a 200m swim, a 20km cycle, and a 5km run, is almost full while the sprint is also filling up fast. With most races in Ireland limited to 300 entrants and many already sold out, the Waterways Ireland TriAthlone is a great chance to participate in a quality event,” said Hugh McAtamney, Waterways Ireland TriAthlone race director.
