As the moderator who moved MANY posts on Friday evening I feel I should give a response.

The board IS set up to have different sections and any post about individual housemates was moved to the Housemates section - I put up a 'sticky' message so people would know what was going on and left it at that.

I didn't tell anyone off (well, not for that reason anyway - mainly for bad language) and still feel that this was correct. I would continue to move such topics should the appear, but have been away for two days so left this sort of things to the rest of the moderation team here.

I do object to someone using an alias to appear as a new member when making such a complaint. Yes, I did check to see who was behind the name 'Hoggle'...

It's not a case of who is for or against this action - as the moderator 'active' at the time I used my judgement to move topics as defined by the way the board was set out. Any "complaint" should have been addressed to the Administrator of the board - not brought up for open discussion to put the thankless task for the moderators into question.

Next...!

All I was saying was that I would have preferred this board to be like it was last year when everyone posted here and you didn't have to board hop!

As I said I appreciate the good work you mods do, and was only trying to illustrate how things could be improved without moving posts. If you want to it's your choice, but I thought the constructive criticism from the board's posters would have been invaluable. The posts about housemates fall under the heading "anything BB related" which is considered 'on topic' by the descripition used for this forum, so I just thought there was no need for them to be moved as the success of this, the main board, is what makes this site good.

Sorry to have offended, and I mean that! I re-regesitered after I couldn't remember my password from last year, I didn't know that would be a problem! I did not deliberately create an alias to have a moan, as I started posting about BB on Thursday after re-registering, then saw the subject of relocating posts on Friday.

I again apologise if I annoyed anyone, but feel I have been castigated for offering suggestions that will keep this main forum at the same excellent standard.

Reasoning noted - but why set up seperate areas under BB4 if everyone is going to post in one forum - the note about moving posts was designed to help - not invite critisism...

Consider yourself castigated if you feel that way.

I just felt the site benefitted by keeping this a general forum, as it was first intended. If you thought otherwise then fair enough. I just thought doing checks on me, and then stating you had done so made me out as having an ulterior motive for using a different name when all I had done was re-regestired after forgetting a password!

Your feedback is appreciated, but I think we will leave it as it is for now.

Thanks.

This is all getting more unnecessarily complicated, just like BB's task instructions to the dim HMs.

Personally I agree with Hoggle. Speaking as a lazy S.O.B. it is easier just to come to the "General Big Brother 4 Chat" forum.

Although it makes good, logical sense to categorise different topics into the Forums you have.

But I would prefer it to be a mad free for all in the main forum.

And I would prefer the BB house to be like that too. We don't want a 60s love-in in there. Well maybe between Fudd and the chickens. Sqwalk!

Thanks for your input. Yes, I can see what you're saying and it would make less work for the moderators as well, so I may change it next year, but I may as well leave it as it is for this year.

You have a beautiful site and the way you designed it is intelligent and easy to use.

But the one constant downer for every site is it's visitors. We are lazy, complaining, confused ingrates! :D

You are all doing a grand job. Thank you.

( Do I win a prize? ;) )

OK, plenty of comments on the topic. You have no doubt noticed that there ARE seperate forums, with seperate areas for talk about Housemates, Tasks and Nominations - some topics have been moved into the correct areas and there is support for both sides of the argument. Not that it should have become one!
Christine has spoken: next time it'll be different - for now it's as it is. The forum description says "Come here to have a general discussion about anything to do with Big Brother 4, which is not covered by the other forums e.g. anything which is to do with Big brother 4, excluding nominations, tasks and individual housemates"
If a topic is moved then chances are it's because it fits better in the other area - more so when it's about one housemate, or about nominations, or tasks. If you do want to see everything in one area then there is an option at the top of your screen to "View posts since last visit" (Does not work for Guest's tho')
If anyone does want to argue, or take this further, please PM me rather than bicker about things in an open area - please?
Thanks
BB4
