Dont know about Selective Editing, but when Jon starts, I get selective hearing and suddenly switch off from that monotonous droning!

I cant get off my train of thought sometimes, and am shocked when I eventually do to where I ended up !

My 2 cents always end up being tad more longer reads.

I'll have to put warning that its long in the header. Chunk it to smaller, digestible posts. And make it more sound-bite-ish to read.

your comments are valid and you have just as much right to make them as long or as short as you wish, but when you have been numbering all morning the brain, especially mine, needs a rest!!!

i think the editing made Jon look better - that actual converstion lasted at least half an hour on live stream, I nearly fell asleep myself!

actually i'm watching with interest tonight... on BBLB last night they cut the footage of the announcement of the failure of the task after Anoushka had said she thought it was her fault, and then they all cheered, but Federico apparently owned up to his crimes straight after that. it wasn't shown, it'll be interesting to see what c4 do with it.

An editor can only work with the footage he/she has

I have to disagree with that statement its the editors job to bring somebody’s point of view across to tell a story
If somebody has a story or a view to put accross and with all the cameras in the house gives the job to a good editor with the amount of time he has it should be easyish.
Who is telling the story and what is the story going to be is a decision taken by exec producers.
Forget the wonderful names they give themselves in television they are doing a great job of telling stories but somehow the story they want to tell is not the story everybody wants to read.
That’s what happens when ideas and formats are allowed to get cosy and regimented.
Top of the pops is the same a tired and dreary format because the BBC is happy with what the exec producer and studio director is doing.
Shame they couldn’t just go with the times today and not yesterday new blood new talent and new ideas and age has nothing to do with it.
Big Brother should have been farmed out to many production companies who would then pitch the best ideas for the job..

I agree with the people who say that Jon has probably benifited by his C4 coverage..
But,apart from that,i disagree with the view that the producers,by implication(ie selective editing),fix the series.
That is unfair.
From my experience they do edit material, but they only do it to ensure that the viewers who do not have access to E4,get a fair idea of what is going on..
I watched Jon on E4 the other day relentlessly going on about star wars, and it was tedious to say the least. It is only right that C4 reflect this.If they need to edit material to emphasise the point, then so be it.

And for people who object to editing,i ask them if they would like C4 to show the TRUE reality of the house???? Banality would be the order of the day.Not just this year, but any year..

C4 are doing a good job.In fact they are saving the programme.

I agree they are doing a good job.

Doesnt mean to say I dont get bored watching E4. And want to change a few things. And imagine.

But, I agree.
