BB FANS

Do you think some people who watch BB get too carried away with their disliking of the housemates? There are people I wish that weren't in the house but when I see hate forums against the housemates I think that is taking things a bit too far.

I think it is these type of forums on other sites which generated the hate lynching crowds that went to some of evictions last year.

The housemates so far have been annoying but they aren't criminals, they are not Saddam or Bin Ladden, they are just contestants in house who are trying and to stay in as much as they can.

I really dislike Fed and Sissy is annoying me at the moment but I will be peeved if I see crowds booing them when they leave the house because they have not behaved like a Jade or a Tim so far. I just don't like them that is all.

I like this site because what is said about the contestants here is tongue and cheek, nothing more but on other sites there is more of a hatred towards the housemates which I find very sad.

I love big brother and I love this site too. I agree the people here are more 'tounge in cheek' with their views. We are out to have fun..! A lot of the success of BBFans comes from the respect we all have for the site administrators too. There is a good sense of community here.

I still respect them for just doing it. For being there. For entertaining us. However much we love or hate a housemate we have to remember we are not putting ourselves up for this...They are..!

The Jades and Tims as well as the Craigs and Brians are what this is all about. Not to mention the 'Nasty' Nicks...

I, too, am against the hate forums that other sites revel in. Again the administration of the site is important. What gets through and what doesn't... It makes or breaks a site.

This is one of the most interesting topics I have seen here Michelle. You are looking at what makes this site so good (in a big brotherish way) and it will be interesting to see how the topic develops.

what I hate about some other sites is the way you get jumped on if you don't like a perticular Hm...it can get very childish out there

It's been known to happen here too I'm afraid. Almost everyone on here is okay though, but if you ever feel things are getting too personal, the best thing to do is totally ignore it. I speak from experience. And it wasn't a very nice one.

Definitely. Sure they are just contestants in a show, but it's a show like no other. If you go on the Generation game, or family fortunes you won't get noticed in the streets, but after a week in the big brother house, you are famous... You are a celeb.

Loved by many, hated by many, but the question is, can it go further than that. Of course. Take the rivalry between football fans for example; I'm thinking Celtic vs. Rangers. In the past throats have been slit and people killed over the team they support.

If some idiot will strike someone, over something like football! Then what's to say someone won't walk up to one of the BB housemates in the street and put a knife through them?

This is perhaps the worst possible outcome, but of course we have other hatred, which many of the housemates are bound to go thorough. Being spat and sworn at in the street.

Tim is our classic example of this. I felt sorry for him when he left the BB house and was boo'ed off-stage. The public can be rough! And this is something that the housemates know, but perhaps will underestimate when going into the house.

Sure it's unfair, but it's a consequence that they have to be ready to face.

Yes unfair in a way, but let's face it, anyone who goes on BB after seeing that may happen can't really cry about it. If they do well then they're stupid!

At the end of the day, they go in the house, they know the score, anyone whos gonna be vicious and nasty about them and promote 'bullying' and 'booing' to the HMs when they come out of the house, obviously dont have a life or friends of their own to hang out with.

People like that should just chill. Fair enough for havin a laugh at the HMs expense, they probably knew it would happen, but being nasty to them as a person, na uh, its always fun to say things behind their back on a website

there is always going to be arguments when poeples opinions are being flung around, luckily "most" of the poeple here when thay have an opinion can back it up and its not just a comment flung in then telling peoiple they are jelaous because they dont like someone

Some people like to wind things up *points at niki* but you get to know people here and you just know when its a wind up most of the time.
