A lot of you seem to think Jon's extremely intelligent but from what I've seen and heard I'm not convinced......I'd say he's of average intelligence and the others are thick!

If you drone on as he does about any subject, people are never gonna argue back, they're just too bored!! ::lol::

This is the man who managed to convince the others that there's more caffeine in tea than coffee!! ::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol::

He hasn't said anything that I've found hard to follow or understand........Anyone care to post ? ;)

I am convinced he is. He has a degree in physics, which is not an easy degree to get.

He has a very individual way of thinking. Some areas of physics are very hard to study, because the human mind isn't geared to think that way, and thats why many people find it too difficult. Studying this, you really have to put your emotions a-side, and this fits perfectly with the Jon we have seen in the house. It seems that he is more intelectual, than social. Again it fits what the psychologists said... "he is man of science, trapped in a world of emotions".

So i say yeah. He is very clever.

Applied Physics is not that hard to study, it is a good degree for solving problems, but that is all. Most of the guys I know that study physics can't do Astrophysics because it is harder and when they are in a class with Astrophysics students studying the same module you always find the Astrophysics students achieving higher results.

I think he is winding the public up, I am not saying he is not clever, but I do believe he is playing up being an excentric. The British public loves an excentric, why do you think he goes in the diary room a lot, he know's that one of his long sessions will be shown to the public, the diary room is the best place to communicate with the public to act the excentric scientist, and he knows this.

He is young to be on a 70K pay cheque, in the real world so he knows what sly tricks to do and toes to step on to reach that goal. I think the guy is probably the most devious guy to ever be in the house. He is playing a game but the viewers have not seen through it. Fair play to him, he wants to win and it is game, it seems his tactics are at the moment the right ones as the viewers don't think he is playing a game.

Ah but he has not fooled me!

I would say he's probably more academic than the other housemates, or at least, more openly academic. But I don't think it's necessarily true that "the British public loves an eccentric". Maybe some sections of the public do but not, I think, the section that would be most likely to watch BB. Besides, who have been the people to win BB. Two out of three times, it has been one down the "dull" end of the scale.

If the British public loved the sort of person Jon is (the "act" as you put it), they would have been a **** of a lot nicer to me instead of abusing and bullying me throughout my schooldays. It's not actually that easy to fake eccentricity - it's pretty easy to spot someone who's putting on an act in that way. You really can't fake that ****. I've seen people try.

I am sorry you had problems in school but I do believe it is an act with Jon. Whether he can keep this excentricity up will be interesting. I think it is probably a challenge for him to see if he can fool the public and win the money.

He does have a very strong academic background, more so than the other Housemate there is no doubt about that.

I have met guys like him before and I do think he playing the game, he is acting for us the viewers, to be different to his other housemates and no I don't think we are seeing the true Jon.

I do also think the British public like excentrics, it is part of our being, I could give you a list of people and fictional characters who are loved by the public because of their excentric behaviour.

I am not being nasty about Jon, I just believe he is playing a different game to the others in the house. If the viewers don't suss him out and he wins, fair play to him he has played a good game. But that is the reason they are in the house to try and tactically stay in the house as long as they can, some tactics are working some aren't. At the moment by judging from the response on the TV, on the net and in the papers it seems his game his working. I on the other hand and some of my friends who are scientists, mathematicians have figured out his game plan.

At least his game plan is better than being nice to everyone and crying at the thought of nominations/evictions

He's the most intelligent, quirky and eccentric contestant to
have ever appeared on U.K Big Brother.

He is just like all those who study physics, arrogant and know it all's. Like my bro who also earns a huge pay cheque!

Although I still think he is sly, but if it is true and he is getting bullied by the other housemates then I will support him to win because I hate bullies. :8o:
