BB keeps refering to nush, steph&sissy being veggies but also told us
nush &steph eat fish.
how does that work? dont they know what fish are?
it's like me saying i'm a veggie but eat cows, pigs, fish, chickens &
turkeys ${

I think there is a more or less continuous spectrum of diet restrictions from Omnivores -> Vegetarians -> Vegans -> Fruitarians -> Breatharians

Vegetarian is a pretty loose term in practice, I know some Vegetarians who eat fish, some who just don't eat red meat. If they're doing it for :x ethical :x reasons (rather than health) then they are more likely to completely avoid all flesh or go completely Vegan.

Ive never understood people who say they are vegitarian because they dont agree with eating dead animals...but will then say, "but its ok to eat fish"
I could claim im a veggie cos i dont eat red meat or chicken...but i dont eat it because i dont like it.

Everyone should be able to each what they like ....as long as it's not other people!

I for one do eat meat but do not like anything that still looks like the animal ie with fishheads, spitroast etc...

I don't know why people who claim to be vegetarian make such an issue of it.
I have not eaten meat for 22 years but I bet very few people would know because I just don't ever discuss it. If I'm invited out for a meal I generally just eat whatever veg is available without any kind of a fuss and I've learned over the years not to mention it in social situations because there's always some plonker like Fed who will try to turn it into a 'Them or US' arguement.
Life's too short, food is there to enjoy and if someone can enjoy eating meat then that's OK but don't use vegetarianism as a point scorer

I think the term for a fish eater is piscatarian,( although I very much doubt thats how you spell it ::lol:: )

I eat fish very occasionally, if, for example going out for a meal and there is no veggie option, as I don't like creating a hassle every where I go.

Like you Lin, if I am eating at someones home, I will just eat veg and not make a fuss.

But, I do usually say I am a veggy,if asked, purely because I am lazy and it is easier than tring to give a long winded explanation.

I would never try and inflict my views on any else, although I do tend to speak up where animal cruelty is concerned

there are so many dergees to vegginess.

Most I know do eat fish including my sister.
It depends on your reasons for doing so...In my sisters case, she will only eat something that she could go out and kill for herself.

I used to be Lactoveggi - just ate white meat. (so basically chicken and turkey) and I still hardly ever have red meat and never eat fish.

I do find myself getting really annoyed with the militant veggies, who go on and on about it, and turn their noses up like they are moraly better than anyone else.

Its nature, we are omnivores, is it wrong for a lion to eat a gazzelle? A bird to eat a worm? no, its nature.
If you are going to be against it for whatever reason, its your personal beliefe and will be respected more if you dont preach.
(not saying anyone here does btw)

Its not the thought of it or the blood or anything like that, when I gave up red meat, it was to lose weight more so than because I didnt agree with farming and killing practices (my other reasons for not eating meat).

I love a piece of gammon steak, or sausage or bacon, but I actually prefer soya mince to normal mince in lesagne or chilli or spag bol... its got aa better texture.
