I don’t know where they got these housemates from but I have to say if they had the poor/rich divide this year this lot wouldn’t have coped. I remember the first week of the divide when Alex, Spencer and the rest had a lot less to live on and didn’t even have a cooker but were able to manage. I don’t think any of these would be able to. The amounts of whingeing I have seen about how much they have got to spend on food is unbearable and they all look like wusses. I have seen 18 year olds who have just left school and have gone expeditions surviving on less.

I wouldn’t mind the Big Brother provides them with essentials even a little meat so they aren’t going to starve. Any way with the amount of money they have got to spend although it doesn’t seem a lot you could still make it go a long way, there have been times when I have had very little money as a student and all I have been able to afford is a 9p can of soup from Tesco’s own and very cheap pasta for a meal.

I don’t know what makes Gos thinks he is a chef because he is so stupid, he was moaning a few days ago that they were running out of yeast and couldn’t make any more bread, if he had have used his brain with the large amount of flour they had and at the time they had quite a lot of sugar they could have made scones, or cakes instead with any left over bits of fruit (which the wives of miners, steelworkers etc, many years ago use give to their husbands as part of their lunch, to keep them going) and even with out the sugar they could use rhubarb as a substitute. In fact with any bits of food they had one could even make loads of pies because flour is very cheap, again something the poor working class used to do because it was very filling and you can put anything in a pie.

Don’t know how this lot would have coped during the Second World War when they had to live on rations. Unfortunately my grandparents are dead but if my grandmother was alive she would cope better than this lot, make the food last longer and no one would starve.

Your so right Michelle, the trouble is they are all spoilt brats who have never had to go without in their lives.

When we were hard up my nan used to make yorky puds and we'd have them with jam, or even on their own.
They filled us up and cost next to nothing!

Last year they managed on the poor side with much less and were still enjoyable to watch, I think some of them (alex mainly ;) ) even quite enjoyed it !
