''As drama enveloped the Big Brother studio, the housemates were cooped up in the bedroom, blissfully unaware of the mayhem going on just yards away.

Little did they know that plans were underway for their emergency evacuation from the House.

At 20.45 the housemates were startled by the sudden appearance of a member of the Big Brother production team. As the head popped around the door, a smiley face told them "not to be scared."

The housemates were anything but scared though. As they listened to the messenger relay the story of the security alert going on in the nearby studios, the gang cheered and bounced on the spot as if it was the best news they'd had since they first came into the House........''

The Elstree Studios, where the BB House is located, is a massive complex. The Studios have their own hotel ans I would guess that is where the HMs were initially taken.

''Lisa and Scott had nothing but praise and excitement when they looked back on their four hours away for safekeeping.

"After events that have happened, September 11th, the security's got to be tightened because we are prime suspects. A high profile TV programme," said Lisa respecting the actions Big Brother had to take to remove them all at a moment's notice.

"I just think it's probably an accident. I don't know but..." said Scott, in his characteristically understated and level-headed way. I'll probably wake up in the morning thinking, 'f***ing hell, how mad was tonight, being ushered away?'"

"For me, honestly, I don't just say these things. I think it's another great thing, I think it's f***ing brilliant, honestly," agreed Scott."I think they handled it completely professionally," said Lisa already looking ahead at how she will remember the night.......''

''THE Big Brother house was evacuated last night after a police sniffer dog discovered traces of explosives. More than 1,000 people were escorted from the area.

They included host Davina McCall, previously evicted housemates Jon and Federico, production staff, the studio audience and people queuing to see the live eviction of Nush, Ray or Gos. Staff and customers in a nearby Tesco store were also evacuated.

Police called in a bomb disposal team which carried out a controlled explosion on a suspect package at the studios.......A BB spokesman said: "The search indicated that there may be explosive material in some boxes and as a precaution a 100-metre cordon was imposed......

....At first, the seven Big Brother housemates - Scott, Nush, Gos, Lisa, Cameron, Ray and Steph - were confined to the boys' bedroom, which was considered to be the safest part of the building. Then they were smuggled to a nearby hotel.........

The drama began at 8pm when a police dog sniffed out the explosives at the George Lucas film studios, close to the Big Brother house in Elstree, Herts. As millions tuned in to Channel 4 at 8.30pm to see the eviction, they were left in the dark about what was happening.....''

''Army experts who checked the package found it was a studio microphone and recording equipment, with batteries and wires.

The suspicious package was discovered around 8pm last night, just half an hour before live coverage on Channel 4 was due to begin.

A spokesman for Big Brother said: "A suspect package was found in the George Lucas building at Elstree studios........

....The bomb scare is the most exciting thing to hit the house this year. The fourth series of Big Brother has been widely condemned as dull and the housemates branded boring........''
