What’s the best thing to throw to a drowning Microsoft Windows programmer?

A. A Macintosh.

================

There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to become a great writer. When asked to define "great" he said, "I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!"

He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.

I take it that at that time in the morning, you were either bored, fed up with the computer, or both?? :D

I do get bored at that(/this) time of morning - just watching the CBS broadcast of them struggling over the clues as to where Jun had gone...

Not on telly - over the 'net... The show I watched screens on E4 on Saturday night, I've seen (most of) it now so can relax, safe in the knowledge that I'm missing nothing - until Tuesday, when the next episode airs in the USA.

You need a fast connection to be able to view TV on the computer, otherwise it will time out and annoy the hell out of you. I'm on 1Mb cable so it's possible here. I watch via 10 TV WBNS in Columbus, Ohio. (See http://www.10tv.com/ for info). Also check http://wwitv.com/portal.htm for a whole list of TV stations, worldwide, you can watch on the 'net.

OK, so I have cable, and can get E4. But E4 is within reach for a lot of people now, as it's on Freeview too - just need a little box to connect to your existing TV set. Seen them on sale as low as £70 in some places.
I know, it's not on 24/7 via Freeview (yet), but you can catch a lot of BB4 USA on it.
