Looking at the info for the 21 contestants that have taken part in BB4 Portugal I think it must have the lowest average age of all series.
The average age is only 22.14 with 17 out of 21 under the age of 25 and 4 under the age of 21.
The breakdown is as follows
18-2 19-1 20-1 21-6 22-3 23-2 24-1 25-3 26-1 27-1

Why so many contestants?! How long does it go on for?!

Thanks larry. I would think Portugal BB4 would be amongst the youngest.

Nicki - The UK Big Brother has one of the shortest runs out of all the international Big Brothers, if not the shortest.

Not sure of the total running time of the show.
They are on Day 59 with 9 contestants remaining.
I just had a good look on the homepage but cannot find reference to the duration. But alot of shows run for 100 days.
The archives will let you select a date up to the end of November but this doesn't mean that it ends at the end of the month.
The show started on the 31st August.

I did discover that they are using Head of the Household. It says that a new leader is selected each week and they are excempt from nominations and have a suite to sleep in with a King size bed ,a bar ,a video and DVD plus a TV. Also an on suite WC. They can also choose one of the nominated contestants to share with. It goes on to say that the HOH has to nominate a contestant each week and then tell the rest who they have nominated and the rest of the house then nominates two others.

The number of contestants is odd. At one point they were down to I think it was 6 then they had the Tuesday show on which the eviction takes place. During this show another 6 appeared. I wasn't watching at the time but was surprised to see the new arrivals later.
Nominations take place on Thursdays.

Hope the sheds a little light of the show ,translations were done via the 'google toolbar' but as usual with on-line translators you need to do the last bit to make good English.
