FORMER (Bolton) Wanderers cult hero Sasa Curcic has won Big Brother... in Serbia.
The midfielder, who wowed Bolton fans in the 1995-96 Premiership season, has been crowned the winner of the Serbian version of Celebrity Big Brother.
He won 50,000 euros after being voted as the country's favourite star following 30 days in the house.
Sasa was one of 13 competitors to take part in the television show.
His appearance in the show will surprise many Wanderers fans since he was a major Premiership star in the mid-1990s.
Although he quit football at the age of 27 in 2000, he had played for Bolton, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. He also played in Scotland for Motherwell and for the New York Metro Stars.
At the time he vowed he would never sign for another club even if he was offered £10 million.
In total, Sasa pulled in £6.5 million worth of transfer deals.
But perhaps showing the right credentials for Big Brother, he told a Yugoslav sports magazine in 2000: "I have given up football because of sex. I would rather score in bed than on the pitch."
Curcic had joined Wanderers from Partizan Belgrade for a then club record transfer fee of £1.5 million in October 1995.
He scored seven goals in 33 appearances before being sold to Aston Villa the following August for £4 million.
When he failed to command a regular place in the Villa side, the Yugoslav international claimed leaving Wanderers had been "the biggest mistake of my life."
He was later sold to Palace for £1 million but again failed to command a regular first team place.
